BRAMALL HALL

BRAMALL HALL On Friday 24th of January our class went and learnt about the Tudors which was very exiting because I'd wanted to go there. Furthermore we hadn't been on one all year! First of all Meg, on the Davenport servants ,welcomed us in and introduced us to Master Geoffrey , Master Davenports cousin, in a way this made me straight away feel like I was in 1599. After we went in we got dressed. The boys wore a hose, a cap and a ruf. We greeted the girls and were then fully transformed into Tudors, it was then I started to get the feeling this was going to be good! Secondly we learnt the Tudor alphabet and wrote our name and date. It was much harder than our alphabet, I wasn't that good, if you tilted the quilt at different angles it went thicker and thinner. When we finished we could go in a mine pray room. Soon after we went into the stillroom, where all the herbs were, Meg showed us some cures and we made nosegay out of rose petals, it smelled lovely. Then Meg showed us how lipstick was made out of mashed up beetles, how weird is that? On the other hand face make up was made of poisonous berries. Next it was time for lunch. I had a loaf of bread, three lumps of cheese, some dried fruit and flapjack. What is more, Mason, Ruben D, Jazz and Daisy were allowed to sit at the high table, where the kings sat. Eventually we danced to some Tudor music, which was different to modern music. We went in Mrs Dorafees bed chamber and we even got to go in a priest hiding hole. It was very dark and gloomy therefore I didn’t go in. Finally we played musical instruments such as the crumborn, cornet and the harpsichord.

On Friday 24th of January our class went and learnt about the Tudors which was very exiting because I'd wanted to go there. Furthermore we hadn't been on one all year!First of all Meg, on the Davenport servants ,welcomed us in and introduced us to Master Geoffrey , Master Davenports cousin, in a way this made me straight away feel like I was in 1599. In conclusion I’d thoroughly enjoyed it. I’d dressed, danced and eaten like a Tudor, consequently I think this would be a great experience for other classes!
