what is Brain Harmonics? Brain Harmonics is a process of assessing each unique brain, finding out how your brain patterning looks when busy and at rest and then optimising its performance through training. who does it help? Helps enhance performance: actors , atheletes, students and business execs Helps people with: addictions (e.g. smoking, substance abuse), anxiety, brain injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, depression, eating disorders, epilepsy, low energy, low immune system, memory problems, obsessive thinking, panic attacks, posttraumatic stress disorder, stress, unresolved emotional issues (e.g. anger, unhappiness) Helps children with: attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, learning disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). how will it help me? It can help you break bad habits, let you sleep restfully, enhance your outlook, improve concentration and improve motivation, help you focus and deal with the task at hand. It will quieten the little voice in your head, help eliminate stress and anxiety. And help you on the road to a healthy brain function and appropriate response. Most people can learn to change brain wave patterns with neurofeedback equipment. Many conditions such as depression, anxiety and attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD) respond well to treatment. Brain Harmonics training is the process of normalizing brain wave patterns in specific regions of the brain that influence our emotional state and cognitive performance. It can also be used to balance out the electrical distribution in the brain. It has been successfully applied to a number of conditions. how does Brain Harmonics work? Brain waves rise & fall in rhythmic and arrhythmic patterns. Neurofeedback thresholds are set to reinforce the wave at just the right time in the natural cycle. For example, if a beep is sounded every time your pattern of brain waves moves into an alert state, then focusing is enhanced. The brain is a marvellous organ, it pairs the beeping with the change in brain wave patterns. Your brain knows you want to hear the beep, so your brain cooperates and works with the training - it’s as simple as that. Healthy brain wave patterns are reinforced by Brain Harmonics training & frequent training will likely increase your ability to stay focused without equipment. Discipline is an integral part of most training programs. In the same way, Brain Harmonics training is done two to three times per week. Brain Harmonics training is all about learning. Each person’s rate of learning is unique, some respond more quickly than others do. The total number of sessions may vary anywhere from 10 to 30 hours, broken into 2,3 or 4 hour segments, or more, depending on the severity of the disorder or on what you aim to achieve. Adequate sleep and good nutrition also boost training results.

what is Brain Harmonics?Brain Harmonics is a process of assessing each unique brain, finding out

how your brain patterning looks when busy and at rest and then optimising its performance through training.

who does it help?Helps enhance performance: actors , atheletes, students and business execs

Helps people with: addictions (e.g. smoking, substance abuse), anxiety, brain injury, chronic fatigue syndrome, chronic pain, depression,

eating disorders, epilepsy, low energy, low immune system, memory problems, obsessive thinking, panic attacks, posttraumatic stress

disorder, stress, unresolved emotional issues (e.g. anger, unhappiness)Helps children with: attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism,

learning disorders, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).

how will it help me?It can help you break bad habits, let you sleep restfully, enhance your outlook,

improve concentration and improve motivation, help you focus and deal with the task at hand. It will quieten the little voice in your head,

help eliminate stress and anxiety. And help you on the road to a healthy brain function and appropriate response. Most people can learn to change brain wave patterns

with neurofeedback equipment.  Many conditions such as depression, anxiety and attention deficit disorder (ADD/ADHD) respond well to treatment.

Brain Harmonics training is the process of  normalizing brain wave patterns in specific regions of the brain that influence our emotional state and cognitive performance.  It can also be used to balance out the electrical distribution in

the brain.  It has been successfully applied to a number of conditions.

how does Brain Harmonics work?Brain waves rise & fall in rhythmic and arrhythmic patterns.  Neurofeedback thresholds

are set to reinforce the wave at just the right time in the natural cycle. For example, if a beep is sounded every time your pattern of brain waves moves into

an alert state, then focusing is enhanced.

The brain is a marvellous organ, it pairs the beeping with the change in brain wave patterns.  Your brain knows you want to hear the beep, so your brain cooperates and works with

the training - it’s as simple as that.

The total number of sessions may vary

anywhere from 10 to 30 hours, broken into 2,3 or 4 hour segments, or more, depending on the severity of the disorder or on what you aim to achieve.

Adequate sleep and good nutrition also boost training results.

what is special about Brain Harmonics? The increased speed of computer functioning in the last decade means that during neurofeedback the brain is now rewarded fast enough to understand exactly which behaviour is being rewarded. In the past this was a problem, since the reward needs

to be achieved within 1/10 000th of a second.

Secondly, every brain is as individual as a fingerprint. Once we have measured the activity of your brain using an EEG machine, we then work out a training plan based on

the imbalances we see from your assessment.

Thus we do not diagnose or treat any ailments, but simply address imbalances where we see them. In conjunction with your particular requirements from the training,

the plan will be further fine-tuned.

For example, the training plan for a person who wishes to improve sleep patterns may be different if that person’s primary focus was sports performance enhancement.

what is neuro feedback?Neurofeedback is the science of changing brain waves by giving your brain

real time feedback on the current  state of your brain activity – information that can help you train your brainwaves to change. Its like gym for your brain.

Neurofeedback, also known as EEG Biofeedback or Neurotherapy, is a ground breaking technique that challenges the brain to function better.

This powerful brain-based technique has been successfully helping clients around the world for over 30 years.

It is a non-invasive procedure with dramatic results for a multitude of symptoms.

During neurofeedback, brainwave activity is measured, and when the brain produces the correct waves for a particular situation, it is given rewards through sound and visually.

The brain is a completely self- serving organ, and very quickly recognises that when it follows the rewards, its own functioning improves. As the brain practices the tasks set for

it, it grows stronger, in the same way that an exercised muscle grows stronger.

This enhanced brain now has the ability to react more quickly and appropriately to a given situation.

how is technology used?High tech brain imaging has opened a large window of understanding of the brain and we now know that the functional brain does more than just serve as a centre of

cognition and memory.  Numerous studies have revealed the brain’s role in emotional processing, the development of the conscious self, and various personality traits that

are central to our ways of being.

Scientists have concluded that ethical decision-making and behaviours are not always rooted in psychological processes or early childhood learning.

Severe head injuries may cause character disturbances and breaches in personal integrity and we know that dysfunctional brains make dysfunctional decisions.

Research has shown that “the brain of the violent patient is clearly different from that of the nonviolent person”(Amen, 1998, p212) .

what is a brain wave?Any of several patterns of electrical activity in the brain defined the the frequency they run at.

During brain training you actually see the various brain waves at work and at rest.

what is a neuron?Neurons are the building blocks of the nervous system, and are the messengers of information.

They relay information from the brain to various parts of your  body via neural pathways.

what happens in a session?During sessions you perform tasks at a computer all the while given immediate

feedback on your brain activity through state-of-the-art software.

Brain Harmonics schedules individuals for as many sessions as are necessary.  Client’s can book 3 or 4 hour sessions a few times a week, as long as they are

consistant or intensive. The intensive includes brain training 2 to 4 hours daily - including one brain map assessment to begin the intensive, as well as a free follow up assessment 3 weeks to 3 months later to determine progress. Typically clients sign on for 1 assessment

and 3 four hour sessions to be a total of 12 hours, all accomplished within a 7 to 10 day period.

Intensives have proven to be one of the best methods to train the brain for new neural pathways. For the first few sessions, a brain training session will allow newly

created pathways to dominate for a period of time  24 to 48 hours  and then the older more established pathway will usually return.

However, in an intensive, the old pathway does not have an opportunity to regain a dominance and therefore the newly created pathway has an opportunity to extend itself

more fully and more quickly than in a training based on a once a week effort.

During the sessions, you will undertake a variety of tasks on the computer depending on what you are trying to achieve. EEG measurements will be taken from relevant

positions on your head while you are carrying out the tasks, and feedback will be given to your brain by means of earphones and visually on screen.

A fully trained neurofeedback practitioner will guide you through every step of the procedure.

how did my brain become unbalanced? Our brains sometimes do not produce appropriate brainwaves because they get out of

balance due to stress, information overload, illness and other factors. If you are unable to sleep, your brain may have too many beta waves at the back of your head. Conversely, an over abundance of delta and theta waves at the front of your head

may mean you have difficulty in focus and concentrating.

If imbalances are severe, disorders such as attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) may result. Neurofeedback addresses problems of

brain disregulation. They include the attention deficits (ADD, ADHD), anxiety  - depression, spectrum behaviour disorders, various sleep disorders, headaches and migraines,

PTSD and emotional disturbances. It is also useful for organic brain conditions such as seizures, the autism spectrum, and cerebral palsy.

am I too old or too young for brain training?Any age group from children to adults will benefit from the neurofeedback and

Brain Training through Brain Harmonics

is it dangerous? Not at all, it is non-invasive assessment and training. Brain training doesn’t teach tricks or techniques. Your brain changes itself – you don’t have to “think” about it or “try”.

Your brain gets the feedback and moves in the desired direction.

is Brain Harmonics a solution to life challenges? We each have bad habits or less than optimum performance in some areas of our lives. This can be something as simple as inability to remember, or it may be a drug or alcohol dependency. There are all types of cure-alls today for whatever ails us - unfortunately,

most of these cure-alls are at best temporary fixes.

Brain Harmonics provides a simple process to help our clients create permanent life changes. We use cutting-edge neuro training to help our clients achieve optimal results in real time.

Brain Harmonics provides individual clients a structured approach to overcoming many personal issues. Talk to us about turning your life around. Children and adults benefit equally.

what is the process of Brain Training?

AssessmentThis is the first step in the training process. The assessment helps us to see how the patterns

of energy are laid out in your individual brain. Each brain is like a fingerprint, unique to you as an individual. Using non-invasive EEG electrodes, we will collect data from different areas

of the brain while the brain is at rest and on task. That data is processed to generate protocols that we will use to help balance the energy patterns in your brain.

The assessment is free of charge when the Brain Training is done.

Pre-Session DiscussionAfter your assessment you will be asked to complete paperwork. At this time, if you haven’t

already done so, please make your payment arrangements. During this time the trainer will be looking over the information gathered from your

assessment. Afterwards, the trainer will discuss with you the results of your assessment, your goals, and how we will be working with you individually.

SessionsEach training session thereafter takes 3 hours, and generally it's best to do 2, 3 or 4 hour sessions per day or every alternate day (hence the term "intensive") until all sessions are

complete, children under 12 complete approximately 1 hour at a time.Sessions will consist of approximately 7 protocols that are designed to help balance your brain. The trainer will place the electrodes at various points on your head. During each

protocol you will be listening to your own brain waves set to musical notes, as well as other sounds meant to encourage the brain towards a more balanced state.

Post AssessmentWe do a complimentary follow up assessment to track your progress and to allow you to see

the difference that Brain Harmonics training accomplishes.

what about medications that I take?It is importatnt to stay on the medications that you take until your brain starts to balance

As the brain starts to balance through Brain Training, the dosages of your medications should be reduced as they may start to become strong and you may feel the effects of

over medicating.

Your brain is now able to do the job that the medication was doing and does not need that much help anymore

why would I want to change my brain waves? Our brain produces different waves as we perform various activities.

For optimum performance, running requires beta waves and sleeping requires delta and theta waves, so you wouldn’t want to be driving a truck when your brain is deep in delta-theta wave territory.

The ideal is rather that your brain produces the appropriate brainwaves for your current or desired activity.

how do I optimize the process? All you are required to do is starting the week prior to training, during the week of training, and for 3 weeks afterwards, is eat lots of protein and drink lots of water, take Omega oils

to aid in building the new neural pathways and get plenty of rest. You should abstain from alcohol, recreational drugs, sugar, caffeine and junk food during

this period. The reason for this is that your brain will be building new neural nets, and you would want to afford your brain the best opportunity to accept these changes in order to benefit fully.

There are some games and exercises that some people are required to do (depending on their imbalances)and these teach your brain how to keep developing good neural pathways.
