From affordable to high-end, minor tweaks to this bracelet’s focal beads ensure you’ll satisfy a wide range of customers. While these projects aren’t usually meant to be resold, feel free to copy this design as is to make your own best seller! Use this simple formula (3 focal beads + 4 mixed strands + a fun clasp) for easy, stylish bracelets at every price point.

If necessary, string smallerbeads at the end of the strands.

You’ll need enough room to maneuver the bar half of

the clasp through the loop half.

1bracelet • Cut a 51⁄2-ft. (1.68 m) piece of waxed linen cord. Fold it

in half. With both ends, go through the small loop of the loop half of a toggle clasp, centering the clasp on the cord. With all four cords, tie an overhand knot (Basics) next to the clasp. Do not trim the fold.

2Over all four cords, string a focal bead. If the bead won’t go over

all four cords at once, string it on the two cut ends of the cord first. Cut a 6-in. (15 cm) piece of beading wire and fold it in half. Center the beading wire on the fold of the remaining cords. With both ends of the beading wire, go through the focal bead, pulling the cords through. With all four cords, tie an overhand knot next to the bead.

3String two more focal beads, tying an overhand knot after each bead.

Cut the fold of the second pair of cords. Separate the strands.

4On one strand, string Czech glass beads until the strand is

within 1⁄2 in. (1.3 cm) of the finished length. String a second strand with seed beads. On the third strand, string an oval or tube bead and a spacer, repeating until the strand is within 1⁄2 in. (1.3 cm) of the finished length. String a fourth strand with rondelles. On each cord end, tie an overhand knot close to the bead.

5 Twist the strands several times. With all four cords, tie an overhand

knot close to the beads.

6Over all four cords, string the bar half of the clasp. Separate the

cords into two pairs and bring them around to the opposite side. Tie a square knot by bringing the left pair of cords over and through the right pair, then the right pair over and through the left pair. Repeat on the other side. Trim the excess cord.
