BP ENERGREASE FG 00-EPSemi-Fluid Gear Grease

Description

Energrease FG 00-EP  is a semi-fluid EP (extreme pressure) grease based on polymer-thickened mineral oils. A sulphur-phosphorus additive is incorporated to provide the EP

properties required by heavily loaded steel gears. An oxidation inhibitor is also included to

ensure long service life for the grease.

Energrease FG 00-EP is fully compatiable with ferrous and non-ferrous metals normally used

in gear systems, and with conventional sealing materials.

Energrease FG 00-EP has a working temperature range of -10°C to 100°C.

ApplicationsThere are many instances where leakage of gear oil can be troublesome. Energrease FG

00-EP has been designed to reduce this problem, and at the same time to provide excellent

shear stability, load-carrying ability and the "coating" characteristics that eliminate the risk ofdry start-up. BP's experience shows that shear stability in a fluid gear-grease is essential,

since any separation of oil and thickener can lead to leakage - which nullifies the advantages

of a fluid grease. Because of these properties, and excellent oxidation stability, many

manufacturers are factory- filling their gearboxes with Energrease FG 00-EP confident that

long-term lubrication and increased reliability will be achieved, regardless of the orientation of

the gear-boxes. Energrease FG 00-EP is used extensively in industrial spur, bevel, worm &

helical enclosed gears.

Compatibility 

Energrease FG 00-EP being based on mineral oils is compatible with the usual gear-box

sealing and paint materials.

Storage and HandlingProper standards of storage and handling are necessary with all lubricants, and are

particularly vital with greases. Packages should be treated with care at all stages, to prevent

contamination of their contents and damage to containers. All packages should be stored

indoors; where outdoor storage is unavoidable, they should be covered to avoid the possibleingress of water and the consequent obliteration of painted markings. Grease should not be

exposed to extremes of temperature nor to direct hot sun sunlight.
