A friend reminded me on the weekend that there are only 9 more Saturdays until Christmas! It really has been a great start to Term 4. Our students are all happily back into routine, settled and producing some wonderful results in their learning. Major Events There are a number of major events coming up so please make sure that you and your children are prepared; swim school, the stage 3 Canberra excursion, Dream cricket and for our year 6 students, they have the opportunity to purchase the ‘Chromebooks’ that they have been using and to take them to high school. The Chromebooks are worth approx. $400 retail and our year 6 students are able to purchase the one they have been using for only $100. If you would like further information about this deal and how it will benefit your child, please contact the school office. CITIZENSHIP REWARDS AT BYNG STEEET CAFÉ Transition We started our transition to Kindergarten for 2016 this week. Staff and students were very excited and lessons went very well. We look forward to seeing more of our ‘new’ kinders as the term progresses. Year 6 also started their transition to Year 7 this week. We wish them all the best as they begin to discover all the new and wonderful things that high school will bring; new friends, new levels of independence and a whole new environment. NAIDOC WEEK Orange celebrates NAIDOC week next week. We will have a special day of celebrations on Thursday beginning with NAIDOC themed literacy activities in the morning, a BBQ lunch for students and a range of fun activities in the afternoon. Congratulations must go to Jyrone McKellar and Caitlin Radnedge who were selected by the Orange NAIDOC committee to perform the acknowledgement of country at the NAIROC dance festival on Wednesday and to Elise Jones who was chosen to be the official flag bearer at the NAIDOC march on Monday.
