Ph 02 6362 3655 Email: [email protected] Thursday, 27 November 2014 Week 8 Term 4 2014 Bowen Public School – Quality teaching and caring community The Schools Spectacular groups led by Ms Quinn and Ms Benton are busy rehearsing and having a wonderful time in Sydney before their performance at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. This is an amazing opportunity for those students who are attending and we are very proud that this is the first group ever from Bowen to participate in this event. The Stage 3 trip to Narrabeen is next week. If you have a child in stage three that is attending please ensure that the formal permission note has been returned to the school and that your payments are up to date. This will be an excellent trip and a fantastic way to finish the year. Our new school hats have arrived! There is a photo of the hats below. We have two types depending on what you wish you child to wear. There is a surf style hat and a baseball style cap. These were selected by the students and at this point we have only a limited number of each. The hats are great quality and look brilliant! The goal is to have all our students wearing a school hat by term 1 next year and at only $10 each, they are excellent value. They are also available for parents too! Just see the ladies in the office with your $10. We have sold so many hats this week and the children look wonderful wearing them. Have a great weekend!

Year 7 2015 PLEASE REMEMBER TO RETURN ENROLMENT FORMS TO THE CANOBOLAS RURAL TECHNOLOGY HIGH SCHOOL AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Enrolments for Year 7 next year cannot be finalised until a completed enrolment form has been received by the school. Please contact Mrs E Richard – TCRTHS 6362 1677. Second Hand Uniforms If any families have any unwanted second hand uniforms they can be dropped into the school office at any time, all donations welcome. We have a second hand clothing pool running and we are in need of all uniform items, particularly school polo shirts.

SCHOOL SPECTACULAR School Spectacular will again be shown on Channel 9 on Saturday 29 November from 7:00pm – 10:00pm. The broadcast will also feature performances by Schools Spectacular alumni and The Voice winner Anja Nissen. There will be a national replay on GEM on Sunday 6 December from 12:30pm. Schools Spectacular will again be shown on Channel Nine this weekend. The 31st Schools Spectacular, This is Australia, showcasing 3,600 of the most talented singers, dancers and musicians from 456 NSW public schools, will be broadcast on Channel Nine on Saturday 29 November, from 7.00pm – 10.00pm. The broadcast will also feature performances by Schools Spectacular alumni and The Voice Australia winner, Anja Nissen. Tune in to see our stars of the future! The last P & C Meeting for the year will be Monday 1 December in the community room at 2pm all welcome. The P & C would like to wish students, families and staff a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. The last Autism support meeting for the year will be on Tuesday 9 December at Bowen school at 9:30am all welcome. Year 6 farewell is on Thursday 11 December. Celebrations at St Barnabas’, Orange On Sunday, 23 November at 5pm Messy Church will hold their Christmas celebration. Messy Christmas will offer a range of fun Christmas activities and crafts that families can enjoy together. This will be followed by a brief, relaxed and interactive worship retelling the Christmas story. As always the evening will conclude with all families enjoying a meal together. Messy Church is held on the 4th Sunday of the month and is an opportunity for anyone in the community to connect with church and God in a relaxed style of worship. After this Messy Christmas celebration, Messy Church will resume in February.
