Bourke Public School
Message from the PrincipalWelcome to another busy week at Bourke Public School!
Our attendance has been FANTASTIC over the last couple of weeks – hopefully we can continue the great attendance for the remainder of the term. Congratulations to the students who participated at the District Cross Country last week in Brewarrina. From all reports the weather was great and our students certainly showed their positive attitudes while achieving their personal best. Thank you to our families for supporting this event and our staff for all their efforts behind the scenes in preparing for this event. Notes and information will be out this week regarding Regional Cross Country.
Well done to our Netball team who took on Cobar Public School in the PSSA competition last week. While we ended up on the wrong end of the scoreline, our students all gave it their best effort and represented our school with pride.
Kindergarten Enrolments for 2022 are now being taken for students who are eligible to attend school in 2022. Eligible students are those who turn 5 before July 31 2022. If you have a child, or you know of anyone who has a child, who will begin school in 2022, please come into the school office and collect an enrolment form. When returning an enrolment form, please present your child’s Immunisation record, Birth Certificate and evidence of residential address.
Don’t forget to order breakfast on Friday morning - the pancakes and bacon & egg rolls will be outstanding!
Have a great week, everyone!

News from around the classes
Wow! I can't believe that it is already Week 7. The Dingoes and the Wombats have been learning to say Munching Mamma's sound. She says /m/ and her letter name is 'm'. We have also started a unit of work on all things to do with 'Worms' and soon we will be making a 'Worm Jar' to put on display. All parents and carers are welcome to drop by and take a look. We are also focusing on using language to describe actions. Please encourage your child to describe what they see around them and speak using simple sentences e.g. She is wearing a hat on her head. Have a great week!
Stage 1 class 1B Miss Blood 1B have been busy publishing their descriptions of a landscape using chromebooks. In Maths, we have been learning about patterns and different number sequences. Students have enjoyed music, learning about percussion and different musical instruments. IB attendance this term has been outstanding! Keep up the great work!
Stage 2 Class 2P Miss Peterson Welcome to Week 7! Over the past 3 weeks 2P have been researching an animal of their choice to write an information report about. All students made a poster and slideshow presentation about their animal that they presented to the class. All students have done an amazing job and should be very proud of themselves. Don’t forget that this Tuesday all of Stage 2 will be going on an excursion to Gundabooka National Park. I am sure we will have a fantastic day.
Stage 3 Class 3M Miss Moriarty Welcome to Week 7! Over the past
week we have been putting all of our research together to finish our Planet
Research Task. Students have been able to show their creativity with
their poster displays. Congratulations to all the students
who participated in the District Cross Country, last Friday.
Support Class 3-6S Miss Stubbs
We have been working hard in 3-6S this week. Jonoah received his new glasses and is wearing them to help with his learning. We have been focusing on whole number and skip counting. On Wednesdays we participate in the Spirit Program with Jamie, he is teaching us how to draw.
Support Teacher Miss HurstThroughout Term 2, I have been moving around Stages 1, 3 and the support classes. We have been exploring many subjects
