Borsak Welcomes Changes to Forms for Acquiring Silencers

Shooters and Fishers Party MLC Robert Borsak welcomed changes to the NSW Firearm Registry's

prohibited weapon silencer genuine reason form and fact sheet.

These changes

follow representations by Mr Borsak to the Deputy Premier and Police Minister Troy

Grant.

The Shooters and Fishers Party is a fierce advocate for law abiding firearm owners' rights, Mr

Borsak said.

We found that the Registry's forms were inconsistent with the Weapons Prohibition ct 1998 so we

sought to have this problem fixed.

The Act provides nine genuine reasons for applying for a silencer permit, yet the existing form did

not include all

of

these, including the recreational I sporting purposes genuine reason.
