An Effective Soil Conditioner for Improved Crop GrowthBorreGRO® CA
The Natural Choice for Increased Crop Growth and Yield
GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT.
BorreGRO® CA originates from trees, a natural and renewable resource. It is a blend of modified calcium based lignin, complex carbohydrates and wood sugar acids. As such, it meets all the requirements of sustainable agriculture and offers farmers a “natural” way to increase plant health and performance.
AN EFFECTIVE SOIL CONDITIONER FOR IMPROVED CROP GROWTH
BorreGRO® CA functions as a com- plexing agent for soil nutrients and maintains the soil nutrients in forms that are more readily available to the plant. BorreGRO® CA is also believed to be a source of metabolizable energy for the soil microbes present in the root zone. In addition, BorreGRO® CA provides a source of added organic carbon, sulfur and calcium, which are necessary requirements for healthy crops, turf and ornamentals.
An Effective Soil Conditioner for Improved Crop GrowthBorreGRO® CA
PLANT DERIVED BorreGRO® CA is derived from one of nature’s most renewable resources, trees. It is an excellent source of calcium, sulfur, sugar acids and organic carbon all in a soluble form. The wood sugar acids in BorreGRO® CA provide readily available carbon to soil microbes while the soluble lignin in the product provides carbon in a slow-release form. The soluble lignin in BorreGRO® CA can also increase soil cation exchange capacity.
EASILY APPLIED In liquid form, it is easy to transport and apply. BorreGRO® CA has low insolubles and can be easily applied through fertigation, drip or spray systems. The product’s solubility properties prevent the build up of insoluble soil conditioner sludges that normally clog lines under low flow. As a formulation component and in tank mixes, BorreGRO® CA powder readily dissolves without leaving insoluble clumps.

GUIDELINES FOR USE: Optimum rate of application will vary with local soil and climate conditions. For best results, follow soil test and plant analysis recommendations. In general, soil application rates generally range from 3-10 kg per hectare per month not to exceed 60 kg per hectare per growing season. Foliar application rates range from 1-5 kg per hectare per month not to exceed 20 kg per hectare per growing season. Dissolve in water prior to use. BorreGRO® CA should be applied alone. It should not be mixed with other acids such as sulfuric or phosphoric acid. Follow label rates as well as the recommendations of your crop advisor and LignoTech AGRO representative. WHAT DOES BORREGRO® CA DO?
Benefits • Improves Soil Structure • Increases Nutrient Exchange and Retention • Stimulates Microbial Growth • Improves Nutrient Absorption • Stabilizes pH • Increases Stress Tolerance • Increases Root Development
IMPROVED NUTRIENT UPTAKE Good nutrient management, especially phosphorus, has been shown to be an extremely important factor in crop production. Tests conducted in locations throughout the world over several years have shown that BorreGRO® CA can complex nutrients, making them more available for uptake by the growing plant. In 2004 and 2011 trials run on citrus and corn, levels of phosphorus and other nutrients measured in plant leaves were higher for plants treated with fertilizer and BorreGRO® CA than for those treated with fertilizer alone.

INCREASED ROOTING In various studies, the addition of BorreGRO® CA to a standard fertilizer program generally resulted in improved crop rooting, as illustrated in pictures and diagrams below, respectively obtained on barley and potato. Even at low dosages, a dose response is still easily observed. BorreGRO® CA generates a root volume increase with a deeper and wider root spatial development, with more intensive and better soil exploration capacity for plant.GOOD
FOR YOU.
BorreGRO® CA
BORREGRO® CA IN THE ROOT ZONE
In the rhizosphere, or root zone of plants, complex interactions are con-stantly occurring between plant roots and soil microbes. Microbes oxidize the available organic carbon present in the soil and utilize it as a carbon source. In turn they convert and transfer nutrients in the soil back to the plants, thereby creating an environment more conducive to strong root growth.
INCREASED SOIL MICROBIAL ACTIVITY In a study conducted at Pretoria University, BorreGRO® CA was found to improve bacterial growth in different types of soils: sandy, loamy or clay soils.
Additional studies illustrated that BorreGRO® CA improves soil microbial species richness and diversity, including actinomycetes, nitrogen-fixing bacteria, yeast and mold.

IMPROVED YIELD In over 40 trials conducted over a long period worldwide, the addition of BorreGRO® CA to standard fertilization programs resulted in an average increase in total crop yield over 10%. Research for all crops showed consistent crop yield increases when BorreGRO® CA was applied, with no limited effect to a specific crop, growing region, time period or soil type.

USE GUIDELINES
Drip Irrigation Use an addition rate of 10 kg of powder or 20 liters of liquid per hectare at planting and flower set. Soil Application Use 10 kg of powder or 20 liters of liquid per hectare in furrow at planting to promote nutrient absorption. Foliar Application Use 2-5 kg of powder or 5-10 liters of liquid per hectare as a source of soluble calcium. BorreGRO® CA is a soil amend-ment, and not a fertilizer. As such it should always be used as part of a standard fertility program. Always read and follow label instructions when using BorreGRO® CA. A simple jar test is recommended to confirm com-patibility. The Basics BorreGRO® CA is available as a soluble powder or concentrated liquid. Individual trial reports are available upon request from your technical sales representative.
GREENER TURF WITH BORREGRO® CA BorreGRO® CA has been shown to enhance the growth of turf grass. Turf grass treated with BorreGRO® CA and fertilizer had significantly higher fresh mass yield than when grown with fertilizer alone. The chlorophyll content of turf grass treated with BorreGRO® CA and fertilizer was also higher.
