Choosing a suitable "Go To" rifle can be complicated for those who are survival minded.There's always the popular Semi-Auto offerings that work well for most applications, but aretypically lacking in the long range area or not suitable for taking medium to large game. In asurvival situation, having a rifle that can handle as many situations as possible is critical.

The C308 from Century Arms can fulfill about any situation you could face. Yes, it's heavierthan your typical AR or AK, but the ballistics are far superior and the price is very attractive.The robust action and years of battlefield experience show that it stands up to a lot of abuseand keeps on running. Even though .308 ammo cost a little more than medium range calibers, the benefit of the round over 5.56 or even 7.62x39 is well established and becauseof the popularity of .308, the availability is strong. Magazines are very reasonable and spareparts are abundant.

Recoil is moderate because of the Chevron Muzzle brake andthe controls are pretty intuitive. Disassembly is straight forwardand simple. Another big advantage of the C308 is the integralpicatinny rail on the top of the receiver for mounting optics.

Overall the C308 is a solid choicefor Home defense or when SHTF.When it comes to protecting my
