Receiving the Holy Ghost is the Third Step to Being Born AgainThen Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38

Repentance and baptism cleanses us from sin so that we may be filled with the Holy Ghost.In canning, soap and water are used to clean a jar preparing it to receive the substance to be preserved (fruit, vegetables, etc.)*

Why is Receiving the Holy Ghost Important?*

Christ in You, the Hope of GloryEven the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Colossians 1:26-27

The mystery hidden for agesChrist in youJesus comes to live inside of us when we receive the Holy Ghost.*

Receiving the Holy Ghost Restores Us to the Original State Lost by Adam & EveBut when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. The Holy Ghost is the Resurrection PowerBut if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. Romans 8:11The Holy Ghost is the resurrection power.It will change us from mortal to immortal at the return of Jesus.*

The Gentiles Receive the Holy GhostWhile Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. What does the Holy Ghost Do for Us?*

The Holy Ghost is Our Source of Power But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. It is the spirit that empowers us to do Gods will.*

The Holy Ghost Edifies UsFor he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteriesHe that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself. 1 Corinthians 14:2, 4

Tongues is not designed for communication with men.Edify: To build up*

Guides Us Into All TruthHowbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: John 16:13Tabernacle planThe candlesticks gave light to offer the incense and to eat the showbread.This is a type of the spirit and the truth.*

Enables Us to Call Jesus LordWherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can (is able to) say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 12:3We cant overcome the world without the Holy Ghost.*

Supernaturally Increases Our FaithBut ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Jude 1:20When we are truly in the spirit, it greatly increases our faith.*

Fills Us With the Love of GodAnd hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. Romans 5:5

The love of God is supernaturally bestowed upon us by the Holy Ghost.*

Renewal is a Daily ActivityGive us this day our daily breadManna was a type of the Holy Ghost. They gathered the manna daily.Five foolish virginsFor which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. 2 Corinthians 4:16*

Early Church Had to be Refilled with the Holy GhostRenewal usually takes place during prayer.It also can take place while praying with others.You can be renewed during worship in church.And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. The Holy Ghost is the New Testament SabbathWe speak to Him. He speaks to us.This is the rest.The Old Testament Sabbath was a symbol of the rest we would experience after receiving the Holy Ghost.For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
