gional Session of EUP West.

Within the following pages you will find more in-formation on the vision of Borås 2015. You can also read about the type of people we are loo-

king to fill our officials team with.

I warmly welcome you to apply to Borås, put your trust in me and together we will make

Borås 2015 invaluable.

Dear EYPers,

Compassionate, supportive, inclusive. New experiences, further challenges, source of inspiration. The people, the place, the effort. Borås 2015.

In Borås we will concentrate on each other in addition to ourselves. My, and I hope our, vision is we encompass the theme and strive for solidarity and inclusion starting with the session. We will all be in Borås together be you a chair, organiser, media team member or delegate.

From the solidary and inclusive starting point you will be given the opportu-nity, the means, and support to push yourself to the limit, experiment, and learn.

The words in the beginning encapsulate the framework we will be working with in Borås. Now, it is up to you to fill the inside of that framework. Borås 2015 will be a great place to start your career as an official while it also will of-fer invaluable new opportunities and next steps for more experienced EYPers.

If you want to be apart of a session that will really make you think about what you’re doing, that will offer you the push and support you need from the very first steps, and will give you the tools and framework to experience a truly compassionate session, apply to Borås.

What will this mean in practise?

Borås 2015 will concentrate on three things:

1. Involving, empowering and supportive.

2. Cooperation and atmosphere

3. Evaluative and reflective

1. Borås will offer everyone strong involvement from the very beginning – although keeping the work reasonable, simple and flexible. After having gone through what our aim is together and thinking about why we do what we do, the ball will be passed on to you on how you want to reach our goals. To bring out the best, you will be supported throughout the process.

Why: One of the greatest strengths in EYP is variety. Variety in vision, variety in culture, variety in personality, and variety in talent. Only by doing things

as yourself can you reach your full potential. In Borås I want to bring out that variety, while still working with a common overarching aim.

2. We will not have clear divided teams – but we will start to work within mixed groups as soon as everyone has been selected and continue throug-hout the process of Borås 2015. Of course each role has its own specific task, but in working together and creating the atmosphere we will avoid segregati-on and aim at a unified session.

Why: EYP is about people. People who challenge us, support us, inspire us. Too often the pool of challengers, supporters and inspirations is brought down to merely the team you have been selected for. In the light of the theme and my passion for inclusion, in Borås we will stretch the lines between the teams and the delegates will experience a session with a truly unified offi-cials’ team.

3. As we will be looking at common aims and why we do what we do we will also dive into how we do things. Borås 2015 will push towards reflection on what we have done and what we do – bringing past experiences and learning from what we do in Borås. In practise this means we will go through past experiences prior the session. During, you will be offered time for reflection and peers to reflect with. After, we will have a look at what we have done and what we want/need to do in the future.

The reflection will be accompanied by feedback. For Borås I am building a system that will provide the means for everyone to get solid, valuable, be-neficial feedback that will be well grounded with references and a variety of feelings.

Why: EYP being all about personal development, reflection and feedback are at the core of that goal. To fully benefit from Borås you will be guided to refle-ction and receive the gift of feedback, should you want it.

Borås will be a top-quality, intense regional session organised by a renown-ed national committee. In addition (and I believe greatly thanks) to the fo-cus-points mentioned above Borås 2015 will surely be great fun and a place to meet old and new friends in the best environment possible.

From EUP Sverige with loveThe Regional Sessions of EYP Sweden in 2015, will be hosted by the cities of Uppsala, Umeå, Lund and Borås, in EYP Sweden’s eastern, northern, southern and western regions respectively. Each session will welcome an international team of officials, and you are now able to apply for these events as a Vice-Pre-sident, chairperson or Editor. Applying to more than one session is encoura-ged, and you can apply for more than one position.

Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their selection individually, within two weeks of the closing of the call. Each Selection Panel, compri-sed of the session’s Head Organiser and President, as well as two members of the National Board of EYP Sweden, Emil Juslin (Project Coordinator) and Tua Malmberg (Vice-President and Head of International Affairs) will be looking to select a balanced team with regards to nationality and experience.

There is no participation fee for officials. Deadline to apply is Sunday August 30th at 23:59 CET. Applications submitted later than this will not be considered during selection. EYP Sweden hopes to welcome you to one of these four promising events, this November.

European solidarity and inclusion will be the focus of the Regional Sessions of EYP Sweden 2015. Whether you are an advocate of establishing a common European identity or not, this theme invites to debates on topics related to social inclusion, development and equality. Through this theme, each session will spark debates on European issues, establishing further understanding of society with officials and delegates alike.

Educating, advocating and striving for European solidarity and inclusion. Is this desirable, or should focus be put on development in other areas? Is a common European identity desirable, or do we want to focus on national development within our European society? Develop your opinion through intriguing discussions, and in finding new and creative solutions to current European issues – thought out by the young, to be established for Europe. Take a stance, and join us in Uppsala, Umeå, Lund or Borås this November.

Located near Gothenburg and Landvetter International Airport, is the city of Borås. Culture and art are prominent elements of the city, which is famous for its sculptures, street art and beautiful parks. Nature is valued by the city, and the countryside is easily reached from its centre. Entrepreneurship and enter-prise are prominent aspects of the city, and highly influence its development. Additionally, it influences the city’s citizens as well, and new businesses are started every year.

A rather small city in size, Borås combines the elements of small town charm and big city-pulse through its prominently well-developed city centre. Home to Sweden’s textile industry centre, fashion is a prominent part of the city’s profile. Several famous clothing companies originate from Borås, and it is tru-ly a city of commerce. Additionally, Borås is home to one of Sweden’s leading science centres, making the city a hub for business and science alike. This influences the University of Borås, which is highly profiled towards textiles, economics and engineering.

Borås will have a team of chairs, two vice presidents, an editor or two, and a media team. Chairs will be co-chairing and vice presidents will not be chairing committees. Many positions available, a lot of things to try out. Choose – even two or three if you like. Right now the call for vice presidents, chairs and edi-tors is open.

Inexperienced chairs

Do you feel like chairing could be your thing or just want to test it out and try? Do you want to take on the next challenge, but just don’t have any experien-ce? Do you still need more confidence in chairing? Do not worry, Borås 2015 is looking for you.

Borås 2015 wants to open up the opportunity for alumni who have never chai-red before and will pride in being the first place so many future talents chai-red for their first time. So don’t be afraid, trust yourself and apply to Borås where your first time will be well prepared and supported.

Experienced chairs

Have a few, if not more, chairing experiences on your belt? Do you feel like a regional session might not offer the challenge you need? Do you feel like trying out different ways of chairing and challenging yourself in new ways? Don’t worry, Borås is where you want to be.

Borås will empower you. You will be given the opportunity - even the push, support, and encouragement - to try things out, and test yourself. Borås wants your input and vision. You will be given responsibility, ownership and challenges that will ensure you leave Borås 2015 with a sense of fulfillment. So don’t hesitate, put your trust in Borås and apply to take on a challenge.

Vice presidents

Does chairing feel rutine? Do you find yourself stuck and don’t know what to do next? Have you dived into the world of training and realised this is your thing? If yes was the answer to any or all of the above, don’t worry, Borås is calling for you.

I am looking for two individuals who are either into or eager to get into trai-ning, leadership, and event facilitation. With me, you will have responsiblity, a chance to shape an entire event, and a large role in training and facilitating the chairs’ team. You will be guided, supported and encouraged as much as you need, but also given space and opportunities to see how much you are capable of.

Who do we want?

Editor(s)

Do you have that creative spark? Do you have vision in what you would want to do in EYP media? Do you have experience from media teams and/or leader-ship? Borås is the place you want to come release all the above.

I hope to get to work with an editor or editorial duo, who will join in enhan-cing the vision of Borås, while bringing their own vision and variety to the experience. The vision requires a strong connection between the chairs, me-dia team and organisers and thus the editors too will have great power and great responsibility. I am eager to get excited with you on all your ideas and ensure Borås 2015 will facilitate everyone equally.

We are looking for good applicants. Consentrate on the application, give it thought, and be proud of it. Don’t let inexperience or ’over-experience’ keep you from applying, together we’ll ensure Borås 2015 is exactly where we are all supposed to be.
