TENGBOCHE MONASTERY

The picturesque monastery at Tengboche, bedecked in intricate woodcarvings and hand painted mandalas, is the highest monastery in the region and one of the highest in the world. The town is reached via a stunning ascent from the airstrip at Lukla to the quirky bustle of Namche Bazaar, the region’s main commerce center, and upwards through Sherpa settlements, alpine forests and windswept yak pasture. Tengboche lies just beneath the breathtaking spur of Ama Dablam, which pierces majestically through shrouds of mist each morning as the monks begin their daily chant.

Langtang and Helambu Valleys Short on travel time but tall on breathtaking scenery and cultural encounters, Langtang and Helambu valleys are just a day’s drive north of Kathmandu valley, yet a world away with their serene pastures, terraced hillsides and dramatic views of Annapurna, Ganesh Himal and Manaslu. These less traveled regions are brimming with cultural sights among the comparatively isolated villages, and the surrounding scenery is as spectacular as anywhere in Nepal.

LANGTANG 12 Days

Annapurna Circuit Traversing the Marsyangdi valley north of Pokhara, this trek travels through a dazzling array of diverse landscapes, climate zones and cultures. We’ll ascend through sub-tropical jungle and pastoral meadows to rugged high mountain plains where yaks graze under the shadows of soaring peaks, and fi nally across the epic Thorong La pass to make the return descent through Kali Gandaki, the world’s deepest river gorge. It is said that no other trek in Nepal provides such insight into the variety of cultural groups and scenery.

GHOREPANI & POON HILL

Thought to be one of the best viewpoints in the Annapurnas, the view at sunrise over Poon Hill is utterly fantastic. This moderate trek begins just north of Pokhara, ascending a beautiful trail along the Modhi Khola, climbing above the roaring river through a string of rural hamlets as the peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri loom over the horizon. On the return from Poon Hill we stop at Ghandruk village, the region’s famous Gurung settlement, where we’ll encounter a vibrant display of authentic rural Nepali lifestyle and culture.
