SANTIAGO DE VERAGUAS

Santiago de Veraguas is the capital of the Panamanian province Veraguas. Santiago is located in southern Veraguas near the provincial border with Herrera. The population in December 2008 is estimated to be 75,000 and growing. Santiago is a friendly, safe city with nice people and the service center of the western Azuero Peninsula. Santiago is not the place where you see tall buildings, but you will find beautiful squares, avenues and parks. One of its most important infrastructure is The Juan Demóstenes Arosemena Normal School, that was built over 60 years ago and has a recent renovation, also on February 27, 2009 was inaugurated the stadium Omar Torrijos Herrera.
