Project Title:Persad Center Website

Research Criteria:Research based on marketing information and col-lateral materials provided to me at the beginning of the project. Marketing research defines the various audiences that Persad Center ser ves locally, regionally, and nationally– their genders, ages, interests, and web-surf ing habits.

Target Audience:Gay, Lesbian, Transgender, and Bisexual people of all ages.

Concept:Create an easily navigatable website that introduc-es a wealth of information for the specif ic target audience that Persad ser ves. Make information as easy as possible to f ind and to do so with visual appeal and sensitivity.

Solutions:Persad Center required a contemporar y revitaliza-tion of their website– as well as a business asset. Originally agreeing to work on this project in 2006, after multiple staf f changes and frequent project restarts, the website was f inally launched on Januar y 1, 2010. As of now I am the primar y webmaster of the site, of fering my ser vices on a pro bono basis. The design of the website itself is comprehensively consistent and utilizes the key colors of their identity in a more pronounced way– ef fectively creating a stronger brand presence. The use of imager y is intended to create a point of relation for GLBT individuals who may require the help of Persad but can’t imagine themselves asking for help– the emotional content alone needs a specif ic focus in order to be successful– and showing a wide range of positive and negative emotions (photographi-cally) can cover a vast amount of area and audience temperaments.
