These  were  my  five  words  that  I  chose  at  first  before  I  made  my  work.  The  word  destruc<on  relates  to  my  work  because  I  made  a  large  hole  in  my  book  this  can  be  seen  as  destruc<on.  I  destroyed  the  book  by  cu@ng  circles  out  of  each  page,  there  are  no  more  pictures  or  wri<ng  in  my  book,  although    there  isn’t  much    colour  in  my  work  only  the  front  and  back  covers  that  stand  out  with  the  colour  yellow.    I  think  that  there  is  crea<vity  shown  throughout  my  work  which,  which  interests  the  viewers.  This  is  because  a  hole  in  page  is  very  unconven<onal,  and  can  be  interpreted  by  viewers  in  various  ways.      Excitement  is  portrayed  in  the  crea<vity  of  my  work  because  of  the  way  I  structured  and  put  together  the  cut  out  pictures  it  creates  an  upliFing  feeling  this  engages  the  audience  causing  them  to  become  more  interested  in  my  work.

Conical  Intersect  

what  aIracted  me  to  these  photographs  is  the  way  one  would  react  to  it.  It  can  portray  various  ideas  such  as;  the  ar<st  is  trying  to  expose  the  insides    of  a  home.  It  gives  the  viewers  a  sense  of  wonder.    The  photograph  is  taken  in  black  and  white  ,  which  makes  the  dark  contrast  with  the  light,  the  tones  are  mainly  grey,  black  and  white  with  various  viewpoints  which  are  some  taken  close  up  ,  Some  taken  normally  and  some  taken  from  below.    Some  of  the  framings  are  horizontal  and  some  are  ver<cal,  most  of  the  main  subjects  takes  up  the  whole  frame  which  means  the  background  doesn't’t  show  or  the  background  is  the  sky  which  compliments  the  main  subject.  The    focus  of  the  pictures  are  sharp  throughout.      

What  I  was  trying  to  achieve  with  these  photographs  were  mainly    The  roughness  of  the  different  pages  and  the  idea  I  wanted  to    Create  was  that  I  wanted  to  bring  out  boldness  of  the  book.    I  think  my  aim  was  achieved,  reason  being;  the  books  look  bold  Because  of  the  light  shining  through  the  middle  In  the  first  one    And  the  second  one,  has  no  light  through  the  hole.    I  think  I  have  the  achieved  technique  because  I  have  managed  to  freeze    the  moments  In  which  each  page  is  exposed  and  in  the  second  one,    with  no  page  exposed,  I  don’t  think  there  are  any  rooms  for  improvement    technically  .    The  photographs  look  good  and  also  holds  the  viewers  interest    Because  it  contrasts  from  light  to  dark,  however  I  could  have    Changed  the  mood  by  changing  the  background  from  dark  to  light  I  think  this  would  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  very    Mysterious.

What  aIracted  me  to  this  to  this  ar<sts  work  and  photograph  is  that  it  relates  to  my  work  and  it  is  very  crea<ve  because  it  is  cut  outs  from  a  book  that  pops  up  ,  this  creates  a  sort  of  intriguing  idea.  This  work    has  very  bright  colours  however  mainly  has  dark  tones  with  a  normal  viewpoint  and  a  ver<cal  frame.  The  background  compliments  the  main  subject  because  the  main  subject  is  placed  on  top  of  a  dark  brown  surface  with  a  black  background  this  makes  the  main  subject  aIrac<ve.    Parts  of  the  photographs  are  blurred  with  a  main  subject  of  a  pop  up  from  a  page  of  a  man  on  a  horse  and  a  soF  light  in  front  of  the  subject.

What  also  aIracted  me  to  these  pieces  of  Allen’s  work  is  that  he  uses  the  pictures  from  a  book  to  tell  some  sort  of  story  how  ever  us  viewers  could  interpret  it  in  our  own  way  ;  the  first  one  shows  a  woman  hit  another  woman,  however  it  could  be  interpreted  in  another  way  which  is,  the  woman  behind  looks  like  she's  running  to  rescue  the  other  woman  who  is  about  to  fall.  Also  the  second  picture  looks  like  a  man  peeping  at  a  woman  who  isn’t  decently  dressed;  however  it  could  also  be  interpreted  in  a  way  that  the  woman  is  posing  seduc<vely  because  the  knows  that  the  man  is  watching.    The  colours  of  the  first  subject  are  bright  while  in  the  second,  it  is  mainly  grey  and  dark.  The  viewpoint  of  the  photographs  are  normal  with  parts  of  blurred,  the  first  photograph  has  a  horizontal  framing  while  the  second  one  is  ver<cal,  both  with  backgrounds  that  compliments  them  and  a  soF  direc<on  of  light  from  the  front.  

The  aim  of  these  photographs  were  to  make  my  work  look  more  three-­‐dimensional  .  Firstly  I  think  I  have  achieved  this  aim  because  I  cut  out  parts  of  the  pictures  and  folded  them  up  in  order  to  make  them  pop  up  from  the  sheet,  however  there  is  room  for  improvement  because  the  sheet  itself  should  be  a  perfect  circle.    Although  I  think  the  photographs  look  good  because  I  composed  the  shots  well,  the  background  is  black,  so  it  makes  the  main  subject  stand  out  beIer  however  could  have  improved  the  first  photo  by  moving  the  camera  more  to  the  leF,  so  that  it  can  fit  the  whole  subject  in  the  first  photograph.    Thirdly  I  think  the  images  do  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  very  exci<ng  and  unusual  .  

The  aim  of  these  photographs  were  to  make  pictures  in  the  sheet  pop  up  and  look  more  3Dimensional.  I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  the  pop  ups  do  look  Three  dimensional  and  also  looks  like  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  when  the  first  pop  up  looks  like  he's  catching  a  ball  ,  and  the  second  looks  like  he's  diving  into  the  swimming  pool.    Secondly  I  think  the  photographs  look  god  because  the  background  makes  the  main  subject  stand  out  however  to  improve  theses  photographs  I  think  that  I  should  have  moved  the  camera  a  liIle  down  in  order  to  capture  the  whole  round  sheet.    Thirdly  the  images  do  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  the  pop  ups  are  very  eye-­‐catching.  

The  aim  of  these  photographs  were  to  make  the  pop  up  look  realis<c,  and  by  this  I    managed  to  add  the  pop  up  unto  a  sheet  where  in  the  drawings,  It  looks  like  a  whole  crowd  is  watching  the  running  girl  being  chased  by  two  cyclists.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  effec<vely  and  the  photographs  do  look  good  because  I  composed  the  shots  well  and  the  background  makes  the  main  subject  stand  out.    Thirdly,  I  think  this  photographs  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  they  are  engaging.      

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  make  the  pop  ups  look  more  3  dimensional  and  a  big  size  .    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  I  managed  to  compose  the  shots  well  and  freeze  the  moment  ,  also  I  think  the  first  photograph  is  the  most  successful  because  both  pop  ups  are  in  focus.    I  think  the  images  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  engaging  and  unusual  because  this  piece  is  based  on  wrestling  

I  took  photographs  of  this  work  in  different  posi<ons,  the  aim  of  these  photographs  were  to  make  the  cutouts  look  three  dimensional  and  also  look  like  there  is  a  war  between  them.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  of  the  posi<ons  of  where  I  put  the  pop  ups,  and  also  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  effec<vely  in  a  way  that  the  viewer  would  understand  .    The  photographs  look  good  and  the  background  makes  the  main  subject  stand  out.  I  think  the  viewers  would  find  this  piece  of  work    very  intriguing  because  it  looks  like  there  are  a  lot  of    pop  ups.

What  aIracted  me  to  this  photograph  is  the  way  it  makes  me  feel;  there  is  a  big  boIle  of  broken  glass  on  the  ground,  there’s  an  t  old  woman    sweeping  up  the  pieces  of  glass  while  there  re  four  boys  si@ng  and  standing  on  top  of  the  big  glass  drinking.  This  creates  the  feeling  of  sympathy  for  the  old  lady.    This  photograph  has  this  impact  on  me  firstly  because  of  the  colour;  the  colours  are  bright  with  high  key  tones.    The  viewpoint  is  close  up  with  a  horizontal  frame,  and  the  background  is  partly  blurred  which  compliments  the  main  subject  there  is  a  soF  light  from  the  top  in  rela<on  to  the  subject.

What  aIracted  me  to  this  photograph  is  the  way  that  the  moment  was  frozen  and  also  how  crea<ve  the  ar<st  has  made  the  photograph  look,  it  looks  as  if    the  <ny  man  is  about  to  put  the  liIle  basket  ball  into  a  small  metal  hole  aIached  to  the  wall.    This  photograph  is  very  crea<ve  because  of  the  colour;  the  colours  in  the  picture  are  very  bright  with  tones  that  are  mainly  light.    The  framing  is  ver<cal,  with  a  partly  blurred  background  which  compliments  the  main  subject,  the  light  is  soF  from  the  side  in  rela<on  to  the  subject.

What  aIracted  me  to  this  photograph  is  the  medicine  that  the  liIle  woman  is  carrying  on  her  head  while  she's  holding  her  son  ,  it  can  be  interpreted  in  various  ways.    This  photograph  has  this  sympathe<c  effect  on  me  because  of  the  colour;  the  colours  of  the  medicine  are  bright  ,  while  the  main  tones  are  high  key.    The  viewpoint  of  this  photograph  is  from  the  front  with  a  horizontal  framing,  the  background  is  blurred  and  the  light  is  soF  form  the  top  in  direc<on  to  the  subject  which  compliments  the  main  subject.  

What  I  was  trying  to  achieve  with  this  photography  was  that  I  wanted  to  make  the    man  look  as  if  he  was  holding  onto  the  pot  handle.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim,  because    technically  I  managed  to  make  the  image  realis<c  in  a  way  although  to  make  it  even  more  realis<c  I  can  add  a  shadow  of  the  cut  out  man  onto  the  surface  below  him.    The  photograph  does  look  good  because  the  shot  was  well  composed  and  also  the  background  enhances  the  main  subject,  which  can  hold  the  viewers  interest.  

The  aim  of  this  work  was  to  make    the  cut  out  man    look  realis<c;  as  if  he  is  about  to  sit  down  on  the  chair.    I  think  I  have  achieved  this  aim  because  of  the  angle  in  which  I  stuck  the  man  down,    which  makes  it  look  realis<c.    In  my  opinion,  I  think  the  shot  is  composed  well  and  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  because  of  the  angle  in  which  I  took  the  photograph,  also  the  background  is  grey,  which  makes  the  main  object  stand  out.    I  think  this  image  holds  the  viewers  interest  because  of  the  way  the  cut  out  is  stuck,  it  creates  the  idea  that  he  is  about  to  sit  down.      

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  add  the  liIle  cut  out  of  the  man  to  the  photo,  I  made  it  seem  as  if  he  was  flying  upwards  with  his  arms  in  the  air.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  clearly,  it  looks  as  if  I  the  liIle  cut  out  is  actually  flying  into  the  air  because  of  the  way  it  is  stuck  down,  which  shows  that  I  have  managed  to  compose  the  shots  well,  and  also  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  .    Thirdly,  I  think  the  image  itself  altogether  holds  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  very  unusual  and  also  makes  the  viewers  want  to  spot  the  liIle  person  in  the  picture.  

The  aim  of  this  piece  of  work  was  to  add  the  liIle  people  from  my  main  book  into  a  picture,  I  did  this  to  make  it  seem  as  if  the  liIle  cut  out  girls  are  flying  out  of  the  champagne  boIle.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  well  because  it  looks  as  if  the  liIle  cut  outs  are  actually  flying  out  of  the  boIle.  I  think  I  have  achieved  the  technique  because  it  looks  as  if  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  effec<vely,  also  I  managed  to  compose  the  shots  well  and  the  background  enhances  the  main  subject.    Overall,  I  think  this  photograph  holed  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  very  exci<ng  also  this  is  my  favourite  photograph  out  of  the  rest  because  it  creates  an  energe<c  and  joyful  mood.    

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  make  the  liIle  cut  out  woman  blend  into  the  rest  of  the  women  in  the  picture,  although  I  was  trying  out  this  technique,  I  wanted  the  viewers  to  try  to  spot  the  woman.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  very  well  because  the  photograph  looks  good,  also  I  managed  to  compose  the  shot  well  because  the  background  is  grey,  which  enhances  the  main  subject.    Thirdly,  the  image  hold  the  viewer's  interest  because  it  is  creates  a  very  mysterious  mood,  it  makes  them  wonder  why  the  woman  is  standing  there  and  why  she  is  dressed  differently  from  the  others.  

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  include  a  liIle  cut  out  of  a  drawing  from  the  main  book  that  can  add  a  reac<on  from  the  viewers  into  the  page.  I  wanted  the  cut  out  to  relate  to  the  main  subject  on  the  page,  so  I  added  a  woman  who  looks  as  if  she  was  about  to  dive  with  the  liIle  boy,  although  the  photograph  of  the  liIle  boy  is  in  colour,  it  contrasts  the  cut  out  because  the  cut  out  is  a  drawing  which  is  in  black  and  white.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  it  looks  very  unusual  and  also  aIracts  the  viewers  aIen<on.  In  addi<on  I  think  I  composed  the  shot  well  because  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  effec<vely  using  a  small  tripod  with  a  camera  aIached  to  it.    Overall,  I  don't  think  the  background  enhances  the  main  subject  because  of  the  colour  difference,  although  the  main  subject  can  also  stand  out  to  viewers  because  of  the  colour  contrast,  so  it  depends  on  the  viewer.  

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  create  some  sort  of  unrealis<c  illusion  that  the  cut  out  man  is  about  to  harm  the  buIerflies  on  the  chair  with  his  arrow.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  the  illusion  of  the  man  about  to  harm  the  buIerflies  is  obvious,  and  also  unrealis<c.  However  I  managed  to  compose  the  shot  well  and  freeze  the  moment.    The  background  enhances  the  main  subject  because  it  is  grey,  and  because  the  main  subject  stands  out,  it  will  aIract  the  viewers.    

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  also  create  an  unrealis<c  ironic  illusion  of  a  man  hanging  on  to  a  washing  line.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  very  well  because  the  of  the  idea  that  is  portrayed  to  the  viewers  which  is  irony.    I  managed  to  compose  the  shot  well,  because  I  zoomed  into  the  main  subject  in  order  to  make  it  stand  out  more  and  I  also  think  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment  effec<vely.    

The  main  aim  of  this  photograph  was  to  make  the  viewers  spot  the  liIle  cut  out  man,  that  looks  like  he’s  about  to  dive  into  the  champagne  glass.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  well  because  because  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment,  however  I  think  there  is  room  for  improvement  because  the  main  subject  which  is  the  cut  out,  doesn’t  stand  out,  but  to  improve  it,  I  could  have  taken  the  photograph  in  a  way  that  it  could  have  been  improved.      I  don’t  think  this  image  would  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  doesn't  look  exci<ng,  it  just  blends  into  the  whole  picture.    

What  I  was  trying  to  achieve  with  this  photograph  is  that  I  wanted  the    cut  out  of  the  drawing  to  hang  from    the  tap.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  I  managed  to  freeze  the  moment;  the  cut  out  looks  as  if  he’s  swinging  from  the  tap.    The  main  subject  which  is  the  cut  out  stands  out  from  the  rest  of  the  picture  I  also  think  it  holds  the  viewers  interest  because  It  looks  mysterious,  it  makes  he  audience  wonder  why  he  was  place  in  that  precise  posi<on.  

The  aim  of  this  photograph    was  to  give  the  illusion  that  the  two  cut  outs  are  swimming  out  of  the  sea  with  a  drowned  person  in-­‐between  them  .    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  the  cut  outs  look  as  if  they  are  swimming  firstly,  and  secondly,  the  background  helps  with  the  idea  because  it  is  a  sea.    I  believe  that  I  have  achieved  this  technique  because  the  moment  was  frozen  effec<vely  which  means  that  it  would  hold  the  viewers  interest  and  make  them  use  their  imagina<on  as  to  what  is  happening  in  the  image.  

The  aim  of  this  was  to  make  an  unrealis<c  photograph  of  the  cut  outs  are  performing  gymnas<cs  on  the  animal’s  back.    I  think  I  achieved  this  aim  because  the  image  looks  unrealis<c,  however,  I  like  the  idea  because  it  is  very  unusual.    The  shot  was  well  composed  because  the  background  adds  to  the  main  photograph,  which  I  think  will  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  looks  very  crea<ve.  

The  aim  of  this  photograph  was  also  to  create  an  illusion  that  a  man  is  rowing  a  boat  out  of  the  background.    I  don’t  think  I  achieved  this  aim  well  because  the  illusion  I  was  trying  to  create  is  not  really  clear  so  overall,  there  is  room  for  improvement  .  To  improve  the  photograph  I  could  turn  the  camera  in  a  way  that  it  captures  everything  .    I  think  this  image  would  hold  the  viewers  interest,  in  a  mysterious  way,  the  photograph  would  make  them  wonder  what  it  in,  however  they  could  interpret  in  in  another  way.    

The  aim  of  this  photograph  is  to  create  an  I  ironic  image;    it  is  ironic  in  a  way  that  there  are  two  small  cut-­‐outs  playing  table-­‐tennis,  however,  the  table  is  bigger  than  they  are.    I  think  I  have  achieved  the  aim  that  I  explained  because  visually  the  table  looks  extremely  bigger  than  they  are.      I  managed  to  s<ck  the  pictures  down  in  a  way  in  which  the  man  is  about  to  hit  the  ball,  whit  the  woman  is  ge@ng  ready  to  hit  it  back,  so  I  froze  the  moment  effec<vely.    This  Image  would  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  it  is  very  unusual  and  the  background  enhances  the  main  subject  because  it  is  grey.  

This  photograph  was  taken  from  the  exhibi<on.  These  pieces  were  put  on  a  stand  in  order  to  display  them  closer  to  the  audience.    I  think  these  pieces  would  hold  the  viewers  interest  because  each  of  them  are  very  eye-­‐catching  and  crea<ve.      The  piece  of  work  that  expresses  the  strongest  mood  is  this  one  in  focus,  because  it  is  also  very  crea<ve  and  can  be  interpreted  in  various  ways.  

This  photos  are  taken  at  the  exhibi<on  of  my  work,  the  images  on  the  leF  are  printed  out  on  photo  paper,  and  mounted  up  onto  the  wall  with  black  and  white  paper    I  like  the  way  I  presented  my  work  because  they  are  eight  very  different  pieces  that  are  eye  catching  and  crea<ve.
