We Remember Them

At the rising of the sun and at it going down, we remember them.

At the blowing of the winds and in the chill of winter, we remember them.

At the open of the buds and in the rebirth of spring, we remember them.

At the shining of the sun and in the warmth of summer, we remember them.

At the rustling of the leaves and in the beauty of autumn, we remember them.

At the beginning of the year we remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live; for they are now a part of us, we remember them.

When we are weary and in need of strength, we remember them.

When we are lost and sick at heart, we remember them.

When we have joy we crave to share, we remember them.

When we have decision that is difficult to make, we remember them.

When we have achievements that are based on theirs, we remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live;

For they are now, part of us, as we remember them.

About Yizkor

Yizkor is the memorial service recited four times a year by the congregation. ▪ Yom Kippur (after the Torah Reading) ▪ Shemini Atzeret (the end of Sukkot) ▪ Eighth day of Passover

▪ Shavuot Each individual in the congregation recites "Yizkor" for those individuals and groups he or she wishes to commemorate, and then "El Malei Rachamim".

You may light the "Yahrtzeit" Candle on all the occasions when one recites the "Yizkor" and "El Malei" Memorial Prayers. No blessing is recited for lighting the Yahrtzeit memorial candle. But Yizkor Prayers in honor of your loved one may be said.
