Surf Awareness Report: Year 6 went to Coffs Harbour Jetty Beach last Friday. The sun was shining and it was a fantastic day, despite the rain forecast! Year 6 were taught first aid by surf lifesavers Michael and Jack, learning about DRABC and practising CPR on their buddies. Students also learnt how to identify a rip and where they are more likely to occur. Surf Groms life savers then demonstrated how to move from their bellies to standing on a surf board on the beach. Students were then able to take their skills to test on the water. Most students managed to catch a wave, if not enjoy a paddle in the surf. They then enjoyed a pizza picnic lunch, thanks to the P&C. To end the magnificent day, students enjoyed a quick dip off the Jetty wharf. Thank you parents and families who transported students to and from the Jetty. Also, a special thanks to Mick and Jack from Surf Groms for the wonderful day! Christmas Carols was an amazing experience for our school choir on Saturday evening. We joined the Coffs Harbour Public Schools combined Choir at the Coffs Harbour Carols by Candlelight at Brelsford Park. Luckily we beat the rain. Unfortunately a few of our choir members did not make it as the organisers pushed the schools’ choir through an hour early due to the weather. Congratulations Bonville School Choir and thank you Miss Tanis for all of the hard work and dedication that you have put into our wonderful choir and making sure they were ready for the big night. 17 th December 2018 Term 4 Week 10 Dates for your diary: Monday 17 th December- Year 6 Farewell 6pm @ Bonville Hall Tuesday 18 th December– Bonville’s Got Talent 11:30am @ Bonville Hall.
