Elite Hall will also have an exhibit about photographic crayon portraits, a collaborative effort by the Bear River Heritage Area, Cache Daughters of the Utah Pioneers Museum, Cache Valley Historical Society, and the Hyrum Museum. Hyrum City Historic Cabins Niels Christensen constructed these log cabins in the 1860s. They were moved to their current location by Hyrum City in 2010. This two-story stone home is the oldest on this year’s tour. Additions have been completed on both sides of the home. Visitors should note the 2-foot-deep window bays and door openings, beautiful replicated staircase, and the original exterior wall in the kitchen.

This Prairie-style home with a Spanish motif showcases the shift from elaborate Victorian homes of previous years to the simpler Arts & Crafts style of the 20th century. Visitors will see a thorough interior restoration of the house to its original floor plan and style.

This late-period Victorian home is an excellent example of modern materials being utilized in a classical style. The kitchen, basement, and bathrooms have all been recently remodeled. Visitors will see antique furniture and fixtures.

This Second Empire style house is typified by its mansard roof and was built in either 1881 or 1888. The rear addition was added around 1917. Visitors should look for the coal room located in the basement, as well as the closet in the upstairs hallway that was originally intended as a water closet with a hole in the floor.

This Italianate style home was built with locally-made bricks, likely from Bevans’s own brickyard in Paradise Hollow. Most of the door and window trims are original, as well as the wood floors. Exposed bricks in the master bathroom are the original exterior walls. Look for the framed photo of former resident John Jensen’s family and a display case full of items found during renovations.
