Bonnie & Clyde

Clyde and Bonnie start off the show dead in their car, both having gunshots wounds to the head. Bonnie wishes to be an actress, Clyde wishes to be a rebel. Clyde and Bonnie meet at an eatery where Bonnie works, and in exchange for a fixed car, Clyde plans to give Bonnie a ride to Dallas, where they discuss their dreams and begin to bond. Buck and Clyde meet up after the breakout, but Buck is getting second thoughts. Buck turns himself in for Blache, and Clyde gets caught by authorities. After hearing their sentences, Bonnie helps Clyde escape!

Synopsis (Act 1):

Starts with showing how publically recognized they are and how theyve gained the publics attention. On a robbery gone wrong, Clyde accidentally kills a deputy and Bonnie is panicked, but then they realize how much theyll do for each other. Another robbery gone wrong got Clyde shot in the shoulder. Buck and Blanche (who realized love over law) go to visit him, and Buck & Clyde commit a robbery, which leaves Buck mortally injured and Blanche gets arrested after he dies.Clyde and Bonnies Journey ends after a shootout on the way to visit their parents, on May 23rd, 1934.

History and how it all began:BONNIE AND CLYDE's Don Black and Frank Wildhorn previously collaborated on Dracula, the Musical, which also premiered in La Jolla. Wildhorn reconnected with Black about the possibility of writing songs based on the story of renowned criminals Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.In February 2009, the show performed an industry-only reading at Roundabout Theatre Company. The reading starred Laura Osnes as Bonnie Parker and Stark Sands as Clyde Barrow. It was directed by Jeff Calhoun.BONNIE AND CLYDE had its premiere in La Jolla, California at the La Jolla Playhouse. The show ran from November 10, 2009, through December 20, 2009.

History and how it all began: Broadway StyleAfter 36 shows and 33 Previews, it was removed from Broadway. Why? Because in a period of just 2 weeks, they keep losing money, approximately $200,00 in all.

Bonnie & CLYDE picked up two Tony Award nominations in 2012 for best score and best actress in a musical. Jeremy Jordan (Clyde) also earned a Theatre World Award for best actor in a musical for his acclaimed role in the musical "Newsies".
