• Corps coordinates annually with our state (LA and MS) agencies, Federal agencies, tribes, and non-governmental organizations
• Corps coordinates prior to every Bonnet Carre’ Opening
• Updates sent during operation on the number of bays opened/closed•• After closing we finalize Endangered Species coordination.

• Coordination Letters sent to USFWS & NMFS on April 1, 2020
• Pallid Sturgeon (E) and Atlantic Sturgeon (T) are entrained.
• Once closed Engineering Research and Development Center, Corps, USFWS, and and LDWF catch entrained sturgeon tag and release back into the River or Lake
• Corps prepares Biological Assessment sends to USFWS
• USFWS prepares a Biological Opinion

Pontchartrain, Lake Borgne, and Mississippi Sound.

• LDEQ Causeway water quality samples crossovers 2, 4, and 6.
• Mississippi Dept. of Environmental Quality water quality sampling.
• Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation 10 sites: fecal coliform, water temp, water visibility, salinity, and dissolved oxygen.
• ERDC (post operation) water quality, fish species abundance sampling, Asian carp tagging
