The EPQ

All pupils studying A-levels will supplement their chosen courses with

the Extended Project Qualification, which will see students –

• investigate a subject from outside their A-level courses that they are

interested in – eg sociology, business, economics, politics, computing,

literature, photography, engineering etc.

• receive focused support from subject specialists in Academic tutoring

• experience university-style tutorial-based study

• develop their independent learning and critical thinking skills

The qualification is highly regarded by universities. An ‘add-on’ for only a

small number of students in most Sixth Forms, the EPQ is central to our

curriculum vision at Bolingbroke.

• Every applicant – internal and external - will have a one-to-one guidance

meeting and conditional offers will be made in writing.

• Taster sessions in Spring term - a great opportunity to sample chosen

courses.

• In the summer term, after GCSEs finish, we offer Summer School classes

and Bridging Projects to bridge the gap between GCSE and A Level
