High-tech engineering with an eye to the futureFive specialized divisions for an all-round competence, from tradition and innovation

A business of long tradition, Bold-rocchi, celebrated its centennial of

activities in 2009, but which today has a young face and the dynamic personali-ty of Allegra Boldrocchi, the export and marketing manager who represents the fourth generation of the founder family. “The business has five produc-tion lines – explains Allegra Boldrocchi – each one represented by a division at the service of the airaulic world: indus-trial fans, heat exchangers and coolant systems, purification systems and in-dustrial fumes exhaust control, acous-tic protection control systems and spe-cial air locks. Our greatest advantage lies precisely in the total synergy and complementary nature of these divi-sions, enabling us to boast an all-round competence in this sector, which no other competitor of ours has until now, the latter often being specialized in one single type of production only”. The group offers tailor-made, high-tech en-gineering, so much so that it was named

‘the industrial tailor’ by sector experts. “We do in fact meet with extremely specific demands and all our supplies are personalized. We follow up the cus-tomer from pre-project to final step”, specifies the manager. Boldrocchi cus-tomers are the big engineering and in-dustrial plant engineering companies, but also the end users, such as refiner-ies, cement works, steelworks and ship building yards. But now we come to the figures: this business centred in Bi-assono boasts as many as 85,000 orders completed all over the world (rough-ly 1,000 jobs a year since the 90’s up until today), 10 active companies, 500 employees – including 200 engineers – an over 100 million Euro turnover, 4 production units (3 in Italy and one in India) and solutions operating in over 140 countries. “Our business has a long tradition behind it but is launched to-wards the future thanks to an interna-tionalization strategy leading us to con-trol highly developing markets, from

India to Brazil” continues Allegra Bol-drocchi. Boldrocchi is now a group ex-porting 70% of its production, also ac-counting for indirect exports, that is supplying Italian customers realizing plants abroad. The policy of this Brian-za business is to retain the excellence in Italy and focus on market niches where the product’s quality is worth more than its price. With its diversified pro-duction the company reacted well to the crisis, focalizing on highly qualified solutions, Research&Development based on customers’ input and con-tacts set up with academies and univer-sities. “We are part of the energy sec-tor cluster and are great believers in the technological Made in Italy, found-ed on quality, safety and reliability”, concludes Allegra Boldrocchi, symbol of that family continuity taken less for granted by modern businesses. The entrance of the fourth generation into the business is naturally a good omen for future expansion.
