Walking group in Beyers Park. A potential new lady member is

looking for a walking group in Beyers Park. Please let the office

know if you walk or if you know of anybody that walks in that area.

The lady is prepared to walk either early mornings or late

afternoons.

Please could all members fill in the tear-off strips and race I.D. stickers in full (that

includes your age) and neatly. It is very frustrating to try and compile a race

history of club members when you do not complete

the required information correctly.

Remember I might know who you are but the race organisers don’t.

Please remember the abbreviation for Boksburg Athletic Club is

BOKS and NOT BAC.

Someone once said….”RUNNERS ARE GOOD PEOPLE. BUT THEN WE’RE BIASED”

Everybody that reads this is runners. We would like to think of ourselves as being good people.

The majority of us runners are.

However it is sad for me to report that some runners refuse to obey road running and athletic club rules.

No one is above any rules. Not even the world record holder.

It has come to the committee’s attention that there are athletes taking part at races that have NOT renewed their

Club Membership at Boksburg Athletic Club for this year but that are using the BOKS abbreviation when

filling in the race tear off strip or race I.D. sticker. We do not understand the reasoning behind this, but it is

unacceptable.

So, please members, it is that time of year now when all those that still want to run in Boksburg Athletic Club

colours can renew their 2012 membership fees and pay for their 2012 CGA licence number.

Remember to pin your licence number on the front and the back of your vest. Fill in the race tag as neatly as

you can and give all details that are requested of you.

I supported my friend Samuel Ntsanwisi who is trying to raise money to build a youth

centre, by running about 200km's with him. He started running on the 19th of November

and ends on the 26th November running from Durban to Nkowa Nkowa which is his home-

town. His aim is to do this in 16 days to raise awareness against the abuse of woman and

children and to get people to donate money to build a youth centre.
