The Board of Regents will apply for federal waivers…
• Related to testing of students with disabilities and ELLs.
Additional SED Items Not Addressed in the Report
• Delayed launch of the electronic student data portal; hold off on uploading personally identifiable student data (inBloom)
• Awaiting updated field memo from SED about student participation in state assessments (opt-out)
• Common Core Regents Geometry- local districts have option of administering ‘old’ Geometry Regents exam until Jan 2016
• Federal waiver for Grade 8 math was approved for the 2013-14 school year
What does all this mean to school districts?
The devil is in the details!
