On Monday morning, be sure to look for the new palm trees, ligustrum trees and
irrigation that went up in front of the school on Saturday. Connor Faris, older brother to
HAMS students Chloe (grade 4) and Caleb (grade 8), selected HAMS for his Eagle service
project. Over the last several months, Connor planned the installation with Mr. Kuhar
and landscaper, Tampa Lawn Salon. Connor then solicited donations from the
community to fund the cost of the trees. On Saturday, along with his Boy Scout Troop
(Troop 46) and Tampa Lawn
Salon, Connor installed the trees
and irrigation. Thank you to
Connor, Troop 46 and Tampa
Lawn Salon for your hard work
planning, funding and installing
the trees and irrigation to help
with the beautification of our
school!!
Please be sure to volunteer to help at the Athletic Banquet which
takes place at 6pm on Thursday, May 30th. We desperately need
volunteers to help before, during and after the banquet to make it
a success!! Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated by
your student athlete and Mr. Cooney. As of right now, we only
have one volunteer to help. Remember it takes a village to run our
programs!!
Also, we will be selling raffle tickets as a fundraiser for the purchase of team soccer jerseys. We will
be raffling off numerous sports memorabilia including: a John Gruden autographed football, a
game used and autographed Buccaneer football (including Mike Alstot and Ronde Barber), a Mike
Evens autographed mini helmet, a Vincent Lecavalier autographed Lightning jersey, a Rays auto-
graphed baseball (including Lou Pinella) and more!! You will receive one free raffle ticket when you
walk in the door the night of the banquet and tickets will be sold at the banquet and this week at
school. Ticket prices are: $3 for 1 ticket, $5 for 2 tickets, $10 for 6 tickets.
Please contact Susan Faris ([email protected]) with banquet questions and Amy Trussell
with raffle questions ([email protected])
Please use the following link to sign up to help at the banquet: http://hillsboroughacademy.my-
