Bob Rafei

Bob Rafei is an Iranian art director, character animator and concept artist who has worked on a variety of popular games such as Crash Bandicoot, The Jak Trilogy, Sonic and Uncharted: Drakes Fortune.

Following his graduation in 1995, Rafei was then employed by Naughty Dog in 1995 at which time the game Crash Bandicoot was in the process of being made which he began to immediately work on, he later played a key roll in the establishment of how the world of Crash Bandicoot would look with his input in all areas of development.

Following Crash Bandicoot (1996), Rafei for the next 5 years continued to work on the Crash Bandicoot series and then began to work on Jak & Daxter in 2001 which later developed into a series.

Rafei then led the visual development for the award winning Jak & Daxter series on the PS2 and also contributed to the games character animation. Rafei again played a huge part in establishing the overall look of the world of Jak & Daxter in the early developments and then onto the actual gameplay.

Rafei is now a board member for Games Developers Conference, The Game Developer Choice Award and One Big Game. He also Lectures on VA & Production subjects at schools/universities

Rafei also has created work outside of animation and games which includes album covers for A&M Records for the album Travelers & Thieves by the Blues Traveler'snull
