WE’RE WORKING HARDTO PRESERVE OUR HISTORY& CULTURAL HERITAGE!For the last 53 years the Delray Beach Historical Society has worked
judiciously to collect our history and provided leadership in preserving
our town’s narrative and character in so many ways...
The DBHS offers engaging and contemporary year-round history exhibits, adult and children’s programming, heritage-themed events, research services and the preservation of our town’s archives.
The DBHS initiated the saving of Old School Square, a National Historic Landmark, and pursued Delray’s Historic District designations (Del Ida Park, Marina District, Nassau St., West Settlers, and OSS Historic Arts District).
The DBHS encouraged the development of, and continues a partnership with the City’s Preservation Board and the Preservation Trust, a non-profit group that advocates for the historic and architectural heritage of Delray Beach.
