Board of Directors The ASCP Board of Directors governs the activities of the Society and is responsible for its fiscal viability and for achieving the mission of the Society.
The Board of Directors is composed of the Officers, the Immediate Past President, five At-Large Directors who are Fellows, and three At-Large Directors who are Members, as well as the following ex-officio members: the Chairs of the Fellow Council, the Council of Laboratory Professionals and the Resident Council, the Chair-elect of the Council of Laboratory Professionals, and the Chair of the International Commission.
The Officers of the Society are the President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

The Ward Burdick Award for Distinguished Service to Pathology recognizes noteworthy contributions to pathology through sustained service to the profession and ASCP. This prestigious award was established in 1929 to honor Ward Burdick, MD, FASCP, one of the original founders of ASCP.
