Accessing the DLL – Flip Tool

The Flip Management Tool can be accessed via the DLL application - login at www.bnsf.com

Click the Display Intermodal Lot Location (DLL) link

Enter unit (s) and click “Submit”

Select reason and flip type from drop-downEnter any comments necessary (comments will be shown on the flip invoice)Click “Submit”

Authorize Flip (continued)

Customers with BNSF credit, will have account (s) listed on this pageSelect patron code and click “Continue with BNSF Credit”Customers without BNSF credit can use “Continue with a credit card”

**Please select the patron code which corresponds to the proper mailing address in the event an invoice needs to be

issued for a completed flip. Most customers will select a patron code ending in 2323.

A message box will pop up to confirm the patron code that will be used for the flip authorizationPlease be sure you have SELECTED the correct patron codeClick OK to continue

Authorize FlipContinue with BNSF Credit

Once you have completed your authorization, you will be returned to the results pageInventory status field will show “Open Flip Request Exists”

You will receive an email:

1) Confirming your flip authorization

And

2) When the flip has been completed

Manage Flip Authorizations

Click the “Manage Flip Authorizations”link from any page in the application

This shows the status of your submitted flip authorizations

Click any of the ‘number’ hyperlinks for details

Flip Authorization Status Descriptions

Pended:Unit (s) has an authorized flip, but has yet to in-gate at the origin facility. Requested:Unit (s) are in BNSF system inventory and the hub has received an authorized flip, but the flip authorization has yet to be approved or assigned to a work group. Unit (s) may also be en-route by train to destination.Assigned:Unit (s) are in BNSF inventory and HAVE been assigned to a work group. At this point, flip authorizations can no longer be cancelled. Cancelled / Rejected:Flip authorization (s) which can not be performed. Customer may have cancelled request or BNSF did not accept flip authorization.Completed:Flip authorization (s) have been completed. Unit (s) are still in BNSF Inventory and have not out-gated or train departed. Out-gated:Unit (s) which had a flip authorization and have been out-gated.

Manage Flip Authorizations

When you click a number link, screen will show details such as unit initial and number “Cancel Flip” -You can only cancel a flip authorization in pended or requested status
