C) ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT

C.1) ELECTRONIC CONTROL SYSTEM

The EDCs (Externe Digital Controller) are powerful and cost effective systems especially designed

for data acquisition and closed loop control of testing instruments. The EDC220V/222V/580V systems

technically succeed the well-established EDC family (starting with the EDC5, EDC25 and the EDC100

up to the EDC60 and EDC120).

EDC 220 designed for static and dynamic testing machines. It has some important features like fixed

control, high accuracy and data transfer speed (1 kHz ~ 5 kHz). Also it has high resolution A/D-

conversion (>18bit) with integrated and programmable converters. It is the most reliable device for static

and dynamic test systems, now a day.

It has all of the measuring channels which the basic test machine should have.

C.2) TEST&MOTION Software

Tests can be done with computer by using Test&Motion. Real time data, graphs and test results can

follow with software screen and also these data can save and print out. Software is universal and user

friendly.

Test and machine settings can be done easily with software. Furthermore; software supports at least 9

languages and our company provides 7/24 online remote access service.

A test software should be able to:

evaluate everything I need

give everything out the way I like it

In the Test&Motion Software, different information is shown in different windows at the same time.

Test&Motion was developed in a modular design. It consists of the basic software containing a simple

but adaptable tension/compression test and different modules for almost all kinds of testing applications.

The special module Free Programming offers the possibility to design tests individually.

All sorts of signal sources can be displayed. Load, position and strain are standard, but other

transducers or calculated results can be displayed, also. Sample diameter, temperature, scales etc. are

possible as well as results via I/Os.

Variables are shown as curve in X- or Y-direction or listed digitally. Further on, you have the

possibility to: change the names of the variables (e.g. load or F), zoom the graphic several times and store

remarks within the graphic.

If a bigger view of the curve is needed, the graphic window can be drawn up to screen size. Due to

the organization in single windows, you do have the possibility, to move important values to a point

where you can still see them.

T&M is able to process several EDCs in a multiaxial manner. EDCs can be cascade and - what

is even more important - synchronized, resulting in absolute identical signals for all

channels. T&M can communicate with several EDCs at the same time. Applications: Tension/Torsion,

3-axial load systems aso.

The RMC is a handheld unit (cable 3m) directly connected to the EDC.

The RMC has a magnetic foil on its back and therefore can be placed at an ergonomic position.

D) FURNACE AND CLIMATE CHAMBER: (Optional)

The furnace and climate chamber are especially used for universal testing machine according to the

required temperature to equip with corresponding load frames various metallic or nonmetallic materials.

This unit consists of furnace/chamber body, controller, high temperature grips, pull rod and bracket.

The temperature can be controlled automatically by PID controller with high accuracy. Also it can

make data communications with computer.

The temperature range and furnace size can be defined according to the customer’s requirements. It

is the ideal material test equipment used for universities, research institutes and enterprises.

E) RTSS | VIDEOEXTENSOMETER (Optional)

RTSS (Real Time Strain Sensor) is a contactless optical measurement system based on a digital camera

and real time image processing. It measures the longitudinal and transverse strain between two applied

lines with a rate of up to 4000 Hz. The strain data is transferred e.g. via an analogue signal or digital

interface to the test machines for further processing or controlling.

APPLICATIONS

Measurement of material properties, true strain controlled tensile tests, fatigue tests, exploration of cracks,

investigation of strain behavior on dynamic tensile tests, dynamic and high speed tests, vibration analysis,

etc.

The fully automatic extensometer is suitable for almost all samples with a form gauge length from

10 mm. Because of its rugged construction and high accuracy, the fully automatic extensometer nearly

meets all applications in measurement of linear strain (determination of the E-modulus up to sample

fracture). The fully automatic extensometer works without restrictions in both the upper as well as the

lower testing area.

The Long Travel Extensometer is specifically designed for

applications with highly lengthening materials such as plastics and

rubber, incorporating long travel (up to 1200 mm). The Long Travel

Extensometer complements relatively low-cost instruments used for

the testing of plastics. At this semi-automatic working measuring

device, the position and the gauge length have to be set manually

whereas the moving to this position and the gauge length as well the

attachment at the specimen, are done by electromotive drives.

Meanwhile a lot of additional versions and add-ons are available for

this device.
