5/75
To achieve consistency of quality in our product, get to know our customers
better, take innovation to another level to earn more, and achieve our target profit by
selling our product to our target market.
Target Market:
Our primary market is Kong Hua School community. They include the students,
faculty and staff. Our secondary market is the neighboring community.
Description:
Our group took the classic American snack, Smores(chocolate and roasted marshmallows sandwiched between graham crackers), in a
different form. Our product has the same components a Smore has, the graham crackers,
chocolate and roasted marshmallows. But instead of taking its sandwich form, our groupturned this snack into a tart form, thats why our product is appropriately called Smore
Tarts.
Crust:The crust has the shape of a small tart cup, has a brownish
color and crumbly texture because it is made up of crushed
graham crackers. Therefore, the crusts taste is similar tograham crackers.
Filling:The filling has a chocolate brown color and has a thick,
creamy, and smooth consistency. It is made up mainly of
chocolate and cream. Its taste, therefore, is sweet andchocolaty.
Topping:
The topping has a white color and has a soft and chewyconsistency, like melted mozzarella cheese since it is made up
of marshmallows roasted in the oven for a few minutes. Its
taste, therefore, is similar to marshmallows, which is slightlysweet.
Packaging:
The packaging used in each tart is a paper cup, which is usually
used in cupcakes and brownies. If purchased by 8 pieces, thetarts will be packaged with a pastry box.
Size:

The diameter of the top of theSmore Tartis 2.5 inches. The
diameter of the bottom is 1.75 inches. The height of the tart is 1
inch.
Shelf Life:
The tarts could last up to 14 days in the refrigerator and 6 daysoutside the refrigerator.
Overall Description:Smore Tart has the combination of different textures,
consistencies and tastes, which brings a unique experience in
indulging pastries, particularly tarts.
Product Usage:
OurSmore Tartis a pastry, a tart in particular, which could be eaten as a snackor a dessert.
Brand Personality:
Brand name: SMORE TARTSTag Line: Leaves you wantingmore...
We got our brand name from the American snack, which is Smores, but since our
product is a tart form, we then called it Smore Tarts. Our tag line, Leaves you wantingmore, relates to our brand name, Smore, which means Some more. It signifieswhenever you ate one, you cant get enough with the taste already, which leaves you to
buy some more. Aside from this, the tag line is rhyme with our brand name. It is simple
but catchy.

B. Focus Group Interview
Our primary market is Xavier University College. We conducted F.G.I. lastNovember 30, 2007 and December 1, 2007 inside XU campus. Overall, we had
positive feedback for our product from all five sets of respondents, though they found
the crust a little hard. We got the same result from conducting F.G.I. in our secondarymarket, Corpus Christi High School, which occurred last December 10, 2007 and
December 12, 2007.
