BIPASHA GETS HITCHED!Didn't Get An Invite To Bipasha Basu's Big Day? Here's What You Missed

If there's one thing we love more than a wedding, it's a star-strewn, celeb-studded Bollywood wedding! The latest silver screen siren to tie the knot was

Bipasha Basu to Karan Singh Grove on April 30 in India. The stars kicked off the wedding celebrations in Mumbai's Juhu with a pretty pastel-hued Mehndi.

Bipasha wore a dreamy gold and pink zari encrusted Anushree Reddy ensemble teamed with a floral headband and jewellery, completing the fun and feminine look that's made for summer weddings. The couple's traditional Bengali wedding was an intimate but lavish event, attended by family and close friends.

With a strong attention to detail and an overarching theme coming together, Bipasha Basu ensured that her wedding was the talk of the town. Can you believe that even with her busy schedule, the actress managed to plan her wedding to perfection? Ever the meticulous bride, she made sure that every single aspect of the wedding matched the theme.

The ceremony, was at a five-star hotel in Mumbai with only family and close friends, and was a Bengali affair as per the Bong beauty’s wishes. While the theme for the wedding was traditional red, white and gold, But of course, with Bipasha and Karan both having strong style sensibilities, don’t expect them to just stick to something quintessential and expected. Bipasha didn't want to look overdressed and so has managed to find the perfect balance between contemporary and traditional while hunky Karan wore a typical Bengali groom outfit but with some western fusion to keep in tune with his personality.

For the opulent reception, Bipasha switched to a cream and gold Sabyasachi gown while husband looked sharp in a white tux. The glamorous couple partied with their guests which included Indian film royalty such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Sushmita Sen.

Get that glow for your special day!

Planning a wedding can be an exciting but a daunting task. It’s your big day so obviously you want everything to be perfect, including your skin. Go away blemishes!

Whether you have always been happy with your skin or had problems now is the time to either maintain your good skin or do something about your problem prone skin. Here are some tips on how to prepare your skin for your wedding, a small private do or a grand affair, the pictures and memories will last a lifetime.

The first thing is to see a professional dermatologist for a full skin consultation, here you will find out your skin type and whether any issues you do have are diet and lifestyle related or hormonal. Diet and lifestyle can be tweaked easily, hormonal changes are more difficult to combat, but can be balanced so seeing a skin professional is a good place to start. If you have been in the same skincare regime or using the exact same products for over two years, the likeliness is that your skin has become accustomed to these products and they are probably not doing anything for you. This is the time to give your skin that extra boost for that all import radiant glow for the big day, so explore some new products. If you are quite happy with the skincare brand you are using visit their local counter and invest in a new boosting serum or night cream that will enhance your skincare regime.

Your skincare regime should consist of 3-steps which consists of cleanse, tone and moisturise (with a step or two in between.) Morning and evening you should start off with a good cleanse, in the morning this is to open

your pores and wash away sweat and any products you may have used on your face at night.

In the evening you are removing all the dirt and grime from the day off your face including make-up. Cleansing wipes are fine to remove the first layer make-up but they are known to dry out your skin and no matter what, you need to deep clean your pores which means washing your face with water. Now would be a good time to start using a face brush such as the Clarisonic or the Tua Spa cleansing system.

These allow for deep cleaning and exfoliation which will give you a natural glow and combats the signs of ageing, which is always a bonus. Be sure to exfoliate at least 3-4 times a week especially as you get closer to your big day. After cleansing comes toner, this opens your pores for the next step which is moisturiser, you want your moisturiser to sink in to your skin and really give your skin the hydration it needs. Introducing a serum before you apply moisturiser is a good idea it just gives your skin that extra boost, the Skinbreeze serums are great, and leave your skin feeling so smooth.

During the day, after applying moisturiser SPF is a must! SPF will protect your skin against dark spots from the sun and over time your

12 | Blush Magazine

Page 13: Blush Bridal Magazine

Get that glow for your special day!blemish marks will fade a lot quicker, you can either use a separate SPF or a moisturiser which has SPF in it.Of course it is hard not to get stressed and to ensure you have adequate sleep in the run up to your wedding, but these are the biggest triggers of breakouts, so try to get at least eight hours of sleep a night. Of course maintaining a healthy balanced diet and lifestyle will contribute to you having glowing skin and can help to de-stress you. It goes without saying that drinking plenty of water will keep your

skin hydrated and clear from blemishes.

When your skin is dehydrated, make-up especially liquid products such as foundation will just sink into your skin but if you have hydrated skin your make-up will stay on the top layer of your skin meaning it will stay looking fresh all day, you are less likely to break out and your make-up artist will thank you for making their job

that little bit easier! Book yourself a course of monthly facials leading up

to the wedding, even if you’re at home skincare regime is on point it is good to

get a facial peel and deep tissue cleansing. This is also your chance for a bit of pampering

and to catch up on some sleep! Everyone has this idea that make-up is bad for you and you

are bound to breakout with all the make-up you’ll be wearing during your

wedding week, this is not true.

Make-up is not exactly good for you, heavy foundations do cause your pores to become congested which lead to breakouts but it is all about control. First of all if you do wear foundation every day think about switching over to a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. This way you still get good coverage but are allowing your skin to breathe, these products will usually have the added benefit of a SPF as well. Benefit’s Big Easy BB cream is really good at evening out your skin-tone, giving you the coverage you need. It also has a liquid to powder finish and self-adjusts to your skin tone which cuts out another layer of make-up for you.

Whether you are using a BB cream or foundation, using a primer after moisturiser adds a barrier between your skin and your make-up as well as adding to the longevity of your make-up.

During your wedding week be sure to properly remove all your make-up after each event with a few cleansing wipes and washing your face with a cleanser. Stick to your skincare routine that you have been doing in the run up to this week and try a good mud mask for ten minutes whenever you get a chance, the Glamglow mud mask says it all, giving you that glamorous glow.

The final tip would be to exfoliate your lips, this will give you smooth lips and make your lipstick last a lot longer on the big day. Of course your biggest tool to a healthy radiant glow from within is your smile. If you are happy on the inside it will show so be sure to enjoy every moment of your planning and along with the above tips you are on your way to perfect skin for your wedding.

MESMERISING WEDDING

BOUQUETS

There are many ways that a bride can express her personality through her choice of wedding ensemble and accessories, and now the

customisation has now extended to the bouquet.

Flower trends are forever changing to suit the seasons, sometimes restricting the availability of the flower you desire. The upcoming summer promises to bring this year’s bride-to-be with a wide variety of beautiful summer flowers to choose from when selecting her bouquet. Bright and bold colours will always stand out, but new creative developments means that there are other ways to have a one of a kind bouquet.

Finding the perfect bouquet can prove to be a challenge.

” Bright and Bold Colours Will Always

Stand Out “

Page 15: Blush Bridal Magazine

With so many options now available, it is easy to understand why this can be a daunting task for any bride-to-be. However, bouquets have undergone a dramatic transformation, and now a bride can have the perfect one to hold at the wedding of her dreams. Fresh flowers are an exciting choice for a bouquet. A selection of natural colours will blend well to create timeless designs, giving you an effortlessly beautiful and more traditional wedding bouquet.

While traditional bouquets, made with natural flowers, have always been a popular choice for brides, they now have new competition. An era in the form of jewel bouquets has arrived. While it may not win the hearts of all Asian brides, this up and coming style of bouquet is certainly catching the attention of many.

These bespoke bouquets are made from a clever combination of wire, ribbon, luxury silk flowers and delicate jewellery. There is no need to worry about the availability of the flower you desire with these bouquets. Where natural flowers wilt and die according to the environment it is stored, your jewel bouquet will stand the test of time and will always look beautiful..The creators will consult throughout with the bride to create a bouquet that reflects her individual style and preference. Handcrafted and decorated with silk flowers, jewels, gems, pearls, crystals and rhinestones, these bouquets will definitely match the grandness of any bride’s wedding jewellery.

Fast becoming a popular choice for the modern wedding, these charming bouquets are custom-made to compliment all aspects of the wedding, from the bridal jewellery, wedding colour schemes, floral centrepieces and reception room décor.

” The design possibilities are

endless and each bouquet crafted

for a bride is remarkable “

Blush Magazine | 15

Page 16: Blush Bridal Magazine

The addition of jewellery provides a unique twist to the traditional floral bouquet but the creativity does not end there. It is a pleasant surprise to see jewelled brooches often used in the designs, to add an element of glamour and enhance the beauty of the bride holding the bouquet. The design possibilities are endless and each bouquet crafted for a bride is remarkable.

There is plenty of opportunity to experiment with different colours and jewellery, until you are presented with a bouquet that best reflects you. Whether you choose a simple and understated design for your bouquet, or opt for something more elaborate and busy, these stunning bouquets are indeed beautiful. With breath-taking designs showcased as individual masterpieces, you can be confident in knowing that your jewelled bouquet is an original piece designed especially for you.

It is good to consider the weight of these bouquets which, although are still delicate, are certainly heavier than a floral bouquet. These precious pieces require careful handling and storage when not in use. However, this leads onto another benefit of choosing a jewelled bouquet; the bride can keep it as an everlasting keepsake of her wedding day.

This kind of bouquet will certainly be perfect for any Asian bride. She will be the centre of attention at her wedding and these show-stopping pieces will add to her elegance.

” BRIGHT AND BOLD COLOURS WILL ALWAYS

STAND OUT “

WHAT DOES YOUR WEDDING BOUQUET

SAY ABOUT YOU?

16 | Blush Magazine

Page 17: Blush Bridal Magazine

While jewelled bouquets are the latest trend, do not feel pressured to follow if you have a preference to natural flowers. While they present a modern alternative to the tradition, jewelled bouquets may not suit the tastes of every Asian bride. There is an element of freedom, particularly in the design and availability of colours used, but the simple fresh flower bouquet will always appeal to the bride who feels more comfortable with tradition.

The bouquet is a perfect accessory that allows the bride with freedom to establish her individuality, whether she opts for natural or jewelled bouquets.

While there has been an evolution of some sort, trends are always changing and the traditional floral bouquet will continue to be a timeless choice.

REAL WEDDINGS

How did you both meet?We both met whilst studying Medicine at University in Leicester. He was shy and avoided me at first, until my friend encouraged him to ask me out!Where did your wedding planning journey begin? The first step was getting engaged and breaking the exciting news to our families! Soon after this we sat down with our parents to decide how we wanted the wedding to work with regards to the religious ceremonies and reception. Once we had an idea of when we wanted to get married we were keen to get the big things sorted first like the venues and catering. How did you go about choosing the right suppliers? We started by going to a few wedding exhibitions in Leicester and London to get ideas and inspiration. This is how we came across our DJ and photographer and the idea of having a photobooth. I trawled through a lot of Asian bridal magazines to find the right designer for my bridal outfits, and we looked online to find unique venues. We also went based on previous experience and recommendations from friends and family.

"MAKING OUR ENTRANCE TO THE RECEPTION AS A NEWLY MARRIED COUPLE. IT WAS AMAZING TO SEE THE VENUE DECORATED AS WE HAD

IMAGINED AND SEEING OUR HARD WORK COME TO LIFE."

Favorite moment from the wedding?

Ayushman – The Baraat. It was so nice seeing everyone together enjoying themselves before the wedding began and the anticipation of seeing the bride and her family was exciting. Ruby – Making our entrance to the reception as a newly married couple. It was amazing to see the venue decorated as we had imagined and seeing our hard work come to life. My mum couldn’t be there for the wedding and it was her wish for my family to be lined up and throw confetti on us as we walked in, which happened exactly as planned.

If you could do it all again, what would you change and why?

Ayushman – I would have arranged the accommodation so that family were staying closer together. We had family coming from around the world for the wedding so would have been nice if they were all staying in the same hotel or area. Ruby – I would have taken more time in the days before the wedding to relax and spend time with the family before the wedding celebrations started. I planned to go for a spa day with my mum but other things got in the way.

Top Tip!

Start early – once you have dates set then make sure you start planning straight away. It might seem like a long way away but the big day comes before you know it!

SHINE BRIGHT LIKE A DIAM ND

Not every engagement ring has to be the same. It can be unique, an expression of love and

stype, all for the perfect proposal. We take a look at how Rohit and AEL Diamonds created

that perfect ring for his proposal..

Not every engagement ring has to be the same. It can be unique, an expression of love and style, all for the perfect proposal. We take a look at how Rohit and AEL Diamonds created that perfect ring for his proposal.

It can be a minefield trying to find the perfect engagement ring. With so many elements to consider, all while balancing the expectations of your fiancé to be, Rohit decided to find a specialist who could guide him.

Contacting AEL Diamonds through their website, Rohit arranged an appointment with one of their specialist consultants at their showroom. Rohit talks about some of the ways AEL Diamonds helped him propose with the prefect engagement ring.

Rohit’s first step after the consultation was to take a look at the jewellery and rings his girlfriend has, in order to try and understand her taste. By finding a preference of style and design, AEL Diamonds are better able to channel and focus the design process towards creating the perfect ring. During his second meeting, Rohit started to see exactly why AEL Diamonds are able to craft exquisite jewellery.

"I never knew that it was possible to bring together

different designs my girlfriend loves, into a

brand new bespoke design."

20 | Blush Magazine

Page 21: Blush Bridal Magazine

Diamonds are seen as a timeless classic. In modern jewellery design, diamonds have become the most recognisable and popular precious stone. AEL Diamonds always advise their clients to choose diamonds based upon the four C’s. Take a look at the diagram in the 2nd issue of Maya Magazine, explaining the four key things to consider.

Over the next month, the ring was cast, polished and the individual diamond stones set. AEL Diamonds have craftsmen who are experts in the casting, polishing and setting processes to ensure the highest quality workmanship. The knowledge and expertise held by these craftsmen is unrivalled.

“Without AEL Diamonds, I do not think I would have ever been able to find anything remotely close to this ring. To imagine that together, we have created a ring which is not only unique, but also tailored around by fiancé to be, while staying within my budget. I cannot thank them enough for their help and guidance”.

“I was emailed the 3D artwork of the ring and was

amazed. It had been just less than two

weeks from our first meeting and I had

what looked to be the perfect ring. I wanted

to make a minor adjustment to the final shape, which

was quickly updated by AEL Diamonds. Once I was happy

with the 3D drawing, they told me that the ring would be made into a wax model, ready for them to

cast and create the ring”.

"Once an initial design had been

finalised, the next step involved was for AEL Diamonds

to produce a 3D drawing of the ring. This enabled them

to reproduce exactly how the final ring will look, but also

structurally how the ring will be crafted."
