About this photo collection:

These photos (except the American House photo) came from ancestors of Bluffton native, Dr. Samuel Yoder. Paul Sangster, a retired radiologist living in Flagstaff, Arizona, sent the photos to Jamie Mehaff-ie, village administrator. Paul knew the photos are from Bluffton, but didn’t have any other information about them.

Jamie sent the photos to The Icon and we were able to match the originals with their sites today.

Here’s Paul’s story about the photos:

Barb Kissell is my second cousin, who lives with her husband in Colorado. Her grandmother was Mar-ion Yoder Brunner and my grandfather was Jocelyn Paul “Pete” Yoder. They were sister and brother. Sam Yoder was their uncle, Sam being about seven years older than our great-grandfather Jocelyn “Josh” Yoder.

Barb’s family kept much of the letters, pictures and other documents. She sent me the two pictures of the buildings, and I wondered if they were still standing, so I looked up your web site (Village of Bluff-ton).

As for Sam Yoder’s descendants, I met the wife of his grandson, Hazen Shea. My mother had been friends of theirs when she was young and kept in contact a little. I am in the process of trying to con-tact one of their sons.
