STEPHEN MINISTRY – Christ Caring for People through People That’s the motto of Stephen Ministry. The Stephen Minister’s role is to bring God’s

love into the lives of people who are going through a difficult time or experiencing a crisis. What do Stephen Ministers do? They listen, care, support, encourage, and pray with and for a person who is hurting. And in the midst of this confidential, one-to-one,

caring relationship, God’s healing love comes pouring through. If someone you know is facing a crisis—large or small—and could benefit from the caring

presence of a Stephen Minister, talk to our Stephen Leaders: Mary Ellen Parks, 843.368.1852 or Sara Jenkins at 843.705.2172. Our Stephen Ministers are ready to care for you!

CHRISTIAN CARE MINISTRY is available for Communion Ministry, Hospital Ministry, Prayer Shawl Ministry, Spiritual Ministry, Homebound Visiting Ministry, Encouragement Ministry.

If you know of someone that would benefit from these wonderful ministries, please contact us. Linda Cecil, 859.619.1777 – [email protected] or Kathy Griebel, 843.837.7427 – [email protected].

BUMC Prayer Initiative – Have you set a daily alarm for 12 o’clock? Let’s pray the Lord’s Prayer each day at noon with belief and expectation in God’s response to all of BUMC praying in unity!

If you have any questions or would like to participate in our next prayer meeting or prayer walk, please contact Mickaylla. [email protected] – 803 515 4227 .

Carrefour Friends

“You don’t realize how lonely you are until it’s the end of the day and you have a bunch of things to talk about, but no one to tell them to.”

Loneliness hurts. But in older people, it can have serious health consequences. Placement in

a care facility, illness, or loss of a beloved spouse may lead to an overwhelming feeling of loneliness and a sense of isolation. The compassionate friendly visits of a Carrefour Friends volunteer can provide these care facility residents with encouragement and help them to feel

more hopeful. If you are interested in becoming a friend for someone who really needs one,

please contact us at [email protected] or call Jackie Tuohig at 913.748.5929.

Carrefour Friends……care for friends.

LUNCH HOUR PRAYER TIME IS BACK! – OPEN SANCTUARY FOR PRAYER Meet us in the sanctuary for lunch hour prayer time, April 23rd from 12 – 1 PM. EPWORTH IS OUR MINISTRY! Did you know that in the last year Epworth Children’s Home gave 174 children a safe and loving place to call home? Each of these children had this opportunity because of United Methodist churches in South Carolina who embrace and provide for this ministry in support of the

children and families in our state. We will participate in the annual Mother’s Day Offering on Sunday, May 12th, 2019, to benefit the children who call Epworth home. Please be in prayerful consideration of what God is calling you to give to this valuable and life changing ministry. For more information about Epworth Children’s Home, visit them online at www.epworthchildrenshome.org.
