TajMo: The Taj Mahal & Keb’ Mo’ (USA)While the two have known and infl uenced each other for decades, and Taj played a key role in Keb’s fi rst record deal, ‘TajMo’ marks the fi rst proper collaboration between Taj Mahal and Keb’ Mo’. The album was self-produced by the duo and was mixed by Grammy Award-winner Ross Hogarth and mastered by Grammy Award-winner Rich-ard Dodd. The 11-song set includes covers of John Mayer and The Who, as well as 6 original songs.‘TajMo’ brings out the best in both artists, with the pair merging their distinctive voices, personalities and guitar styles to create vibrant, imme-diate music that’s fi rmly rooted in tradition yet ruled by a playful sense of adventure. “Don’t Leave Me Here” is a love letter to the south that sounds like an instant classic, and “Soul” interweaves world music with blues in a way that only Taj could pull off. Taj and Keb’ put a soulful spin on Mayer’s “Waiting On The World To Change”, on which Raitt lends her unmistakable vocals.

Kid Colling Cartel (LUX)Kid Colling is a Colombian-Luxembourgish singer-songwriter and guitarist. From an early age he was drawn by the magical sounds of the Mississippi blues and the rhythm and swing of the big bands: the blues had touched his soul. At age 16, he got his fi rst guitar and immediately knew that music will be his life. Colling is a graduate from the American School of Modern Music in Paris where he discovered jazz music and learned from such greats as Peter Giron, Rick Margitza, Manuel Roche-man or Christopher Culpo. Colling is constantly looking for collabora-tions and projects in order to broaden his musical horizons. After singing with Marly Marques in a rhythm & blues band and playing the guitar for the harmonica player Dave White, he works since 2014 with the American folkblues

singer Ilene Barnes.

Dawn Tyler Watson (UK)Dawn Tyler Watson est Montréa-laise d’adoption depuis qu’elle a obtenu son diplôme de l’Université Concordia en 1994, après des études en jazz et en théâtre. Née à Manchester, en Angleterre, elle a grandi en Ontario avant de s’installer dans la métropole.Si elle chante depuis longtemps, c’est en 2001 qu’elle est sortie de l’anonymat avec l’album Ten Dollar Dress (Preservation Records). Une agréable surprise pour les amateurs de blues qui at-tendaient une voix du renouveau. Un album qui compte 13 chansons, presque toutes écrites par la chanteuse. Talent de voix, talent de com-position.De festivals en spectacles, les prestations se multiplient. Les éloges et les critiques aussi. Des revues spécialisées comme Blues Revue accueil-lent la chanteuse dans le cénacle des vedettes montantes.Les prix et les récompenses suivent. Lys Blues du Québec, Canadian Maple Blues Awards et Canadian Folk Music Awards cognent à la porte de Dawn Tyler Watson. Elle reçoit l’International Screamin’ Jay Hawkins Award en France en 2002 (meilleur spectacle) et le Trophée Blues en 2004, toujours en France (meilleure artiste féminine internationale).L’année 2004 verra ses débuts au cinéma québécois dans le fi lm Jack Paradise, mettant en vedette Roy Dupuis. Elle joue le rôle de Curly Brown, grande diva du jazz des «nuits de Montréal». Une prestation qui lui assure une excellente critique.Watson partage également la scène avec d’autres vedettes. Colin James, Corey Harris, Sue Foley, Susan Tedeschi, Bob Walsh, Lonnie Brooks et tutti quanti.Dawn Tyler Watson n’a pas le temps de chômer, elle est en demande au Québec, au Canada, dans des festivals aux États-Unis et en Europe.

Vitor Bacalhau (PT)After releasing his fi rst EP in 2014, Vítor Bacalhau is now putting out his fi rst album. There are 10 songs on the album, all of them with lyrics and music by Vítor Bacalhau. The al-bum was recorded live at Mobydick records studios, in a Power Trio format, with old school tones that remind the records from the late 60’s/early 70’s. It was recorded and produced by seasoned musician/producer Budda Guedes from Budda Power Blues. Davy Knowles and Budda Guedes are featured as special guests on two terrifi c guitar solos. 2017 is gonna be a big year, with a new album already on the works and many live performances both in Portugal and abroad.
