    BRELLAS BLUE TOTORO MITTENS

Totoros are shy forest spirits portrayed in My Neighbor Totoro, a charming animated film by Japanese director Hayao Miyazaki.

This chart is meant to be used in conjunction with my Generic Mittens Knit Flat pattern to create a great pair of totoro mittens. It assumes that the 19 sts across the chart will take up the entire width of the mitten, or close to it.

Use your row gauge and the length of the recipients hand to figure out when you should starting working this chart in the body of the mittens. (I started mine about half way up the thumb gore.) If you time it right, you should be starting the fingertip decreases at around row 36 of the chart, so that they naturally cut off the totoros ears at the mitten tip.
