DAILY ADMISSION TO THE FACILITYAdmittance to the Recreation Center requires scanning your membership card at the Welcome Desk upon entering the building. Your membership card is required.

CANCELLATION OF CLASSESThe Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel any class, event, or activity. Decisions to offer advertised activities are based upon registration totals. Please register for programs early so minimum class participation can be met. In the event of department cancellation, a full refund is issued. Refunds will only be issued if the class is cancelled by the Recreation Department or if an entire session of classes that meets continually cannot offer make-up classes. Registration of a class acknowledges that the participant accepts these terms. Please allow approximately three weeks for receipt of your refund by City check.

COVID-19 FACILITY INFORMATION

FACE COVERINGS As of July 8, 2020, the City of Blue Ash is requiring masks within all City buildings and facilities with the following exceptions:• Persons actively engaged in exercise so long as six or more feet of separation between individuals exist (with the exception of using the

open gym). Members will be required to wear face coverings while checking into the facility and while walking through the hallways of the facility.

• Persons with a medical condition or disability contraindicating the wearing of a facial covering.• Persons under 10 years of age.

CAFÉ The Café is temporarily closed. We will re-evaluate our Cafe operations in early 2021 and make a decision about re-opening as our overall facility usage increases.

LOCKERSLocker availability will be limited and spaced to accommodate social distancing.

SHOWERSSanitizer will be available at each shower stall and it is required that you sanitize all surfaces before and after use.

WHIRLPOOL Ages 18+ Will require social distancing at all times and there will be a whirlpool capacity of no more than 4 users at a time. Face coverings will not be required while in the whirlpool but all other facility rules apply when entering and leaving the area.

OPEN GYMUsage of the half Blue Gym for open gym requires a reservation. To make a reservation, click here or use the Blue Ash Recreation Center app. Sessions are 30 minutes in length. Reservations may be made one week in advance beginning at midnight, and up until the beginning of the session time. Be respectful and do not over-reserve.

Half Blue Gym capacity will be limited to 20 individuals per session. You must book a spot for ALL MEMBERS/GUESTS of your party including non-active individuals. No more than 20 individuals will be permitted in the half Blue Gym at one time.

CANCELLATIONSReservations may be cancelled up until one hour before the session begins. Please be respectful to other members and remember to cancel your reservation.

SAFETY MEASURES• Face coverings are required at all times by all open gym users.• Basketball games are not allowed. Users may shoot baskets but must remain socially distanced at all times.• Hand sanitizer is located inside the half gym. Sanitizer spray is available for use to sanitize surfaces.• No shared equipment. If you need a basketball, please visit the Welcome Desk staff to receive a sanitized basketball. All basketballs will

need to be checked out and returned for proper sanitization. Basketballs not returned, may result in membership suspension.• The bleachers are available for use. Please only sit in the designated, marked spots to maintain 6ft distancing. Be respectful and

considerate of those around you and maintain 6ft distancing. Please sanitize bleachers before and after use.

BLUE ASH RECREATION

All Blue Ash Recreation Members will receive complimentary fitness classes as part of their membership. Non-qualifying persons can choose to purchase a 6 month unlimited pass for $250.00 or a 5 punch, punch-pass for $50.00. Both passes will be good for all fitness classes (*exception is Jazzercise). If the punches are not used the punch-pass will expire a year from purchase.

*Jazzercise is not part of the complimentary or non-member fitness class passes. It is independently operated and all payments should be made to the instructor of the class.

CLASS LEVELSTo help with selection of the appropriate level fitness class based on your abilities, classes have been rated as follow:All classes on the schedule are open for anyone to take, but some classes are taught at a different pace than others and may require more modifications. If you have specific questions about any of our classes contact Bree Booz, Fitness CenterManager, at 745-8435 or [email protected].

Beginner Level classes are suitable for anyone at any fitness level but specifically targets participants searching for a low impact, slower paced class. Expect basic choreography and moderate intensity. Intermediate Level classes are suitable for anyone though may require modifications for some participants. Expect a focus on coordination and control of your body, more complex choreography, and a faster tempo.

Advanced Level classes are suitable for those with an athletic background or who are experienced with group fitness classes. Exercises may always be modified but will be presented at a very challenging level.

GROUP FITNESS CLASSESABSolutely Core I30 minutes of gut blasting core work! ABSolutely Core combines a little cardio with a lot of core work to help you attain your body sculpting goals. Whether you are aiming for a six pack or just want to firm your middle, this class is great for anyone wanting to get in better shape.

Cardio Core I This 45-60 minute cardio session will help you trim excess fat and give you the mid-section you’ve always wanted. Emphasis will be placed on strengthening and toning the abdomen, butt, hips and lower back.

Circuit Training I AA cardio, strength, and flexibility class focused on providing participants with a balanced total body approach to fitness. This class is a great way to break up the monotony of your “normal routine” and learn new exercises in a group atmosphere.

Chair Yoga B Chair Yoga, which is for all ages, includes breath work, stretching poses, balance postures, the use of weights for upper body strength, meditation, and relaxation. Recommended for physical limitations, and impaired mobility, Chair Yoga increases flexibility and improves muscle tone and coordination.

Hatha Yoga B IHatha Yoga takes a minimalist approach to burning calories, contracting muscles and stressing the body’s cardiovascular system while encouraging concentration on subtle energy flows that fosters an inner awareness of body position. It centers on static postures and fluid motions, emphasizes controlled breathing that draws attention inward and low-impact drills meant to strengthen body and mind.

Indoor Group Cycling B I AA 50-minute indoor cycling class focusing on cardio challenges, hill climbs with varying speeds and resistance for all participant levels. Classes taught by spinning certified instructors.

Just Fit B Combine fun with fitness in this 30-minute exercise class that is great for the active older adult, beginner, or anyone searching for a class that is low impact and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Instructors will emphasize basic movements for daily living that will increase flexibility, range of motion, muscular strength, and cardiovascular fitness.

Power & Endurance (PE) I AA complete and functional approach to fitness focusing on attaining peak physical fitness for your age and ability level. Exercises emphasize total body training.

Tai Chi B I ATai Chi is made up of slow movements and breathing exercises. Designed to allow chi, or energy, to flow freely throughout the body. Tai Chi will improve balance, health, awareness, agility, and coordination.

TRX Classes B I ATRX training is a type of training that uses your own body weight and gravity to build strength, flexibility, balance, mobility, core and joint stability, all while preventing injuries. The best part is all ability levels and ages can train on the TRX suspension trainer and achieve great results.

Yoga B IBuild strength, flexibility, and slow deep stretches that will help you find your hidden inner strength and mental endurance. With proper breathing and mental focus, you will feel more relaxed and rejuvenated.

Zumba I Zumba fuses Latin and international music and dance themes together for a great, dynamic, and effective fitness class. The routines combine fast and slow rhythms that tone, sculpt, and inspire!

FREE FITNESS ORIENTATIONSThis 45 to 60 minute session is designed to introduce you to our equipment and the basic components of exercise. It will include a personal workout card on which our fitness staff will note seat heights and other information for your future use. Orientations are given by appointment only. To schedule an orientation call or email Bree Booz, Fitness Center Manager, at (513) 745-8435 or [email protected]. New members are encouraged to take advantage of this FREE service. Please note that anyone under the age of 16 is required to complete an orientation before using the fitness center.

PERSONAL TRAINING One of our nationally certified personal trainers will design a specialized program and work one on one with you to help you attain your personal goals. First, you will need to schedule an initial consultation. The consultation consists of a meeting in which we will establish your fitness goals, and take you through a series of assessments (wear workout clothes). Before your first “hands on” training session your personal trainer will use the information acquired during the initial consultation to design a program for you. The number of training sessions you purchase is dependent on your needs. Individual trainer information and fees can be found below. GROUP TRAININGInterested in something a little more affordable than personal training and more personalized than a group fitness class? Our trainers have specific hourly rates for training individually as well as with groups, but if you have 3 or more people and are interested in committing to a longer time frame (typically between 4 and 8 weeks) then we offer more affordable individual rates for group sessions. Rates may vary slightly depending upon the type of session that is being offered (Yoga, TRX, Cycling, Kettlebell, General Boot Camp, etc). If you would like to create your own group training class with 3 or more of your friends, feel free to contact any of our trainers directly.

ABRAKADOODLEAbrakadoodle provides a dynamic learning environment for art education that actively sparks the child’s imagination while developing new skills. The Abrakadoodle curriculum is designed to extend the child’s creative abilities and build skills in fine motor, language, art appreciation, cognition and other skill areas. Children are introduced to art materials, artists, art vocabulary and techniques through engaging art activities. This exposure provides an adventure into art education and helps them to develop both an appreciation of art and confidence in their own creativity. Materials included for all classes. TIPPI TOES® Tippi Toes® instills a love of dance in children ages 18 months - 12 years. Our original imaginative music and choreography enrich creativity, motor skills, and body awareness while building each child’s self esteem. Our ballet, tap, jazz and hip hop classes are fun and exciting for all children!

TINY TOESTiny Toes is great for children who will be able to participate in class on their own. Music, movement, balance and the basic dance steps are introduced in a fun, friendly and positive manner. Time: 10-10:30AM, 10:45-11:15AM BALLET, TAP & JAZZ Ballet, Tap & Jazz dance classes are typically offered for children 3-7 years old. We incorporate an even mix of the types of dance over the 45-minute class time using high-energy music.

Time: 5:15-6PM (3-5 years) or 6:15-7PM (5-7 years)
