So the Syrians made a new temple and destroyed the old one. Then a group of Jews called Macabees banned together and fought a war and guess what, they won. So after they won, they fixed the temple then they searched the temple but all they could find was a small pitcher of oil which was only supposed to last one night but it lasted 8--thus the miracle of Channukah. Tom Brady is tied with Brett Favre for most consecutive home wins as a starter at 25 wins each, and if Tom wins on Monday at home, he will hold the record. Another thing on the line is that Bill Belicheck has never lost to a team twice in a regular season. The last thing on the line is just bragging rights for the rivalry. The winner of this game would become 10-2 and the loser will be 9-3 and be a game back in the AFC East. Mainly, the winner of this game will be the best team in the NFL. This Monday, we hope you enjoy the Monday night thriller.

Thursday, December 9th is the fifth grade

movie night. The movies on the voting list were, Kung Fu Panda, Goblet of Fire, Chamber of Secrets, Tooth Fairy, and Sandlot. The votes were very close between Goblet of Fire and Sandlot. The final winner was Goblet of Fire by around five votes. The admission is five dollars at the gate. There will be snacks and drinks so bring some extra money. All the proceeds will go to the school senate, and the money will go to a cause called Kids to Kids. It will be a great night, and we hope to see you there! The Monday Night Thriller By Jrod and Dylan Volman

Monday night, Pats vs. Jets, the winner

will most likely win the AFC East, and go to the super bowl. Computer projections say that the winner of this game has an 80 percent chance of winning the AFC East, but there’s a lot more on the line than the AFC East. Ask Charlie By Charlie Fitzsimmons

Q: What do I do if I forget my homework or folder? A: You should call a friend who is in your classes or tell a teacher the next day that you forgot it. Q: What do I do if I have a question, but my teacher is too busy to answer it? A: Raise your hand quietly or go to her/him after class and ask the question? Q: What do I do if I’m excited to tell a friend something but they aren’t paying attention? A: You give them a light tap on the shoulder or call their name until he sees you.

The holidays are approaching and people are getting ready. Kids are looking at a lot of stuff this year including the Rebok ZigTech, Xbox 360 and phones. Most kids want ZigTechs this year. Why? Because they are one of the lightest shoes in the world. But what kids really like about them is that you can customize the shoes. The Zigtech are one of the most popular shoes on the market right now because so many famous people like Peyton Manning, John Wall and many more have them. The bad things about ZigTechs are that if you have a flat foot it is bad for your foot. I think that most kids are probaly going to get the ZigTechs for the holidays. Another popular thing that kids like is the Xbox 360. It is probably the most popular gaming system out there because it has such amazing graphics. The maker of this fantastic game is Microsoft. A popular game for the Xbox is Black Ops. I think most kids would really like this on their list for the holidays. Last of all I believe that most kids want phones for the holidays because kids think they’re cool. I believe that phones are on everyone’s list. A lot of people want an Iphone because you can get games. The most popular game is Angry Birds. I’d rate the Iphone a 5 out of 5 because it is so addicting. I think that everyone will have at least one of these presents on their list.

The Olympic Fenn Skating has begun! By David Nerrow

Fenn winter sports have finally begun!

Winter sports at Fenn are probably the most popular in the year. Today’s topic on winter sports is Skating at the Middlesex ice rink. Skating is a lot of fun and everybody is so excited about it. The 5th Grade goes first and a few boys go first, like me. In skating you can play a lot of games with Mrs. Byron, Mr. Byrd and Mr. Farley. One of our favorite games for Skating is capture the Ball. You can also free skate when you want to. Just be careful not to really hurt yourself like I did when I slipped and fell on my wrist. Watch Out and Have Fun!!

Holiday Presents By Spencer Pava

5th Grade Basketball By Finn Harding We just started the basketball season in the 5th grade. Right now we’ve played two games, and they are always very exciting. We are just doing scrimmages right now with different teams every day. Mr. Smith (Smitty) the coach makes us do some drills then we get to play a 25 minute game. There are 7 people on a team, but we play 5 on 5. There are 2 minute shifts so every player plays about 21 minutes. In the first scrimmage, Christian tried to get a 25 yard hook shot but missed and Jacob Dudley got around 10 points for his team. Overall, basketball is really fun; I love it.

The Rink By Spencer Pava

I trudge, Into the rink and feel the cool air touch my skin, And slip on my comfortable shiny skates. I step, Onto the smooth frigid Ice. I glide onto the clean cold glass. I hear the ice when I bang a tight turn. I slam on my breaks and snow goes everywhere. I touch The ice. I love skating Top 10 X Box Games By Hal Groome

The reason that I put Black Ops last is

because it is too gory and stinks. I know that Call of Duty is gory, but it’s “BOUS.” When I polled other students, HALO REACH was popular but not as popular as Black Ops.

1. CALL OF DUTY 6 2. MADDEN 11 3. NHL 11 4. FIFA 11 5. MADDEN 10 6. DANGEROUS HUNTS 10 7. ASSASSINS CREED 8. NCAA FOOTBALL 9. HALO REACH 10. BLACK OPS

Top Ten Video Games for Wii By Benjamin Zide

I collected data from 2/3 of the fifth

grade about their favorite video games for the Wii and came up with these answers.

1. Black Ops and FIFA 11 2. Super Smash Brothers 3. Wii sports
