Revolutionary business devices
Windows 10 is driving not only device innovation, but device revolution as well. HoloLens and Surface Hub are two examples of how Windows is changing the business device landscape and pioneering new experiences

Makes existing devices better
• Faster WiFi reconnect
• An improved task manager
• Greater security
• Better performance
• Plus all the other benefits of Windows 8 and Windows 10, fundamentally
11
Solutions Conference – Spring 2015www.manersolutions.com
(517) 323‐7500
Upgrade existing PCs in-place
• For Windows 7 and Windows 8 devices you already own
– For existing devices that meet the minimum hardware requirements for running Windows 10, the easiest approach will be to use the in‐place upgrade process to move from Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 8.1 directly to Windows 10
• Windows does the work, preserving all data, settings, apps, and drivers– With an in‐place upgrade, migrating to Windows 10 from Windows 7, Windows 8 or
Windows 8.1 can be done without reinstalling Windows from scratch, preserving your data, apps and drivers as required
• Free upgrades for one year after launch– Qualified existing PCs running Windows 7 or greater and that meet the hardware
requirements for Windows 10 will be provided the opportunity to upgrade for free for up to one year after launch
Effortless updates on your terms• Personal devices stay current with latest innovations
– Consumerswill receive latest feature updates, which are installed as they arrive via Windows Update
• Businesses can update with market‐tested updates
– You can opt‐in to the consumer mechanism as well, or you can choose to delay innovation updates by up to 90 days so they can first be tested thoroughly in the market
• Option for mission critical systems to delay updates
– Many businesses have mission‐critical systems which they want to remain largely unchanged, only receiving security updates and critical fixes. You will have the option of choosing this level of support as well

Solutions Conference – Spring 2015www.manersolutions.com

Security for your users’ identities• Next Generation Credentials
– Windows 10 includes a new solution that addresses all of the complexity and cost challenges you’ve faced to date with existing two factor authentication solutions, by enabling your users to use the devices they already have as one of the factors. This means you can use your mobile phone, whether it’s a Windows Phone, iOS, or even an Android device as one of the factors. The other factor will be biometric or a PIN. If your users can’t use their phones as one of the factors, they can enroll their actual Windows PC as one of the factors
• Breach, theft, and phish proofing
– This new identity can be virtually breach, theft, and phish proof as the user’s identity will be bound to the device itself. If an attacker is able to extract it, the best they can do is get encrypted data ‐ which is useless to them. Another related feature also prevents “pass the hash” attacks by putting a user’s derived credentials into a container that is isolated from the rest of the system
Helping people of action do great things.

“flows” through the system
by showing who must approve it,

What we have heard so far
We need our tools to work together out of the box.
We need productivity tools with a TCO we can afford.
Users still need to get their work done when they are travelling.
Our mobile workers need access to more than just email, and without using a VPN.
We can’t risk attacks from spam or viruses—especially if it impacts our customers.
Our IT managers are tied to our servers.
Managing complex infrastructure takes our IT staff away from the important projects.
It’s hard to keep track of all our licensing costs.
