The term "weblog" was coined by Jorn Barger on December 17, 1997.

The short form, "blog," was coined by Peter Merholz, who jokingly broke the word web-log into the phrase we blog in the sidebar of his blog www.Peterme.com in 1999.

The modern blog evolved from the online diary, where people would keep a running account of their personal lives.

Static - For the most part websites stay the same.

Current - Updated several times a week if not more often.

Must have a bit of technical knowledge in coding.

No coding knowledge necessary.

Website pages are broken up by Static Pages and Categories…. Products, prices, articles, pictures, etc…

Blogs are written more like a journal that is broken up by dates. Usually the most recent entry is on top.

When a Website is updated there is usually no feature that automatically notifies your readers of the update.

Blogs are usually setup with a RSS feed for viewers to subscribe to.

•Make web publishing fast and easy. •Associated with written text, but also facilitate easy publishing of pictures, movies, music and animation as well. •Educational perspective: blogs are often used as platforms for authors to interact, negotiate, and hopefully, form communities that learn and build knowledge together.
