The Evolution of the Denim Jacket

Originally made a statement by miners and cowboys, jean jackets have become a historical item as well as a fashion statement. The success of the denim jacket style began in the early 1900s, and fashion companies quickly embraced and added the denim jacket to their collections.

From being a symbol of youth and punk rock-ers in the 1960s, to becoming a canvas for indi-vidual expression, designers have almost done everything with the denim style. Major fashion brands like Levi’s, Gucci, and Givenchy have changed up the style by using multiple colors and different distress levels to form various looks for their collections. These major designers

bringing back the denim jacket trend paved the way for fashion-conscious consumers to hold on to wardrobe classic. Retail-ers followed the lead as well, as Topshop added nine different types of jean jackets to its collection. The basic denim jacket has stayed an important part of fashion, and today everyone from Banana Republic to Abercrombie and Fitch features the jean jacket.

The trend really boomed in the mid-90s, but made it’s comeback in the 21st C yet again. Designers began getting creative with the denim jacket as the denim vest also made its way into the fashion world. Online shopping

out-lets like Us-

Trendy give cyber shoppers a reasonable and varied selection of denim jack-ets for any taste. Promoting a youthful appeal, the jean jacket has emerged today stronger than ever and should remain a fashion staple of many consumers’ wardrobes.Activewear Never Looked So Stylish

Although there are many ways to con-vince yourself to workout, shopping for new ac-tivewear could become your new motivation strategy. The new bohemian activewear collec-tion, Free People Movement, has launched a line to inspire consumers to elevate their work-out wardrobe.

Shopping for activewear not only serves as retail therapy for workout gurus, but also motivates individuals to want to exercise in their stylish workout clothes. Free People Move-ment has brought alive a collection of unique and special apparel different from any standard workout gear. The brand also offers outfits for

all types of workouts—yoga, surf, dance, and run. The line is filled with cut out sports bras, geometric crop tops, leotards, lattice-detail yoga pants and leggings for active women to indulge in.

Free People Movement also added activewear accessories to its line—from bluetooth headphones and armband set to hair ties and ballet leg warmers—to complete any and all workout outfits. Free People Movement leaves exercise-conscious women with no excuse not to workout, once they have the wardrobe to look cute doing it.

Overalls Make A Comeback in the Fashion World

Another iconic trend from the 90s has made its way back from the past era: overalls. The overalls style has went from an outfit to wear to a hoe-down, to fitted and chic. Today, designers have become creative with over-alls as the trend can be found in various colors, lengths, textures and pat-terns. Overalls were seen in the past as childish and nothing anyone over nine years old should be wearing, but the trend has become anything but childish.

The overalls popularity went off the grid after the 80s and 90s and have reappeared in the fashion scene today. From celebrities to street style bloggers and stylists, the childhood throwback has been making a huge fash-ion statement on runways as well as on the street. The trend can be worn across a wide spectrum—from music festivals and work, to day-to-day activi-

ties and running errands. Overalls are also versatile, making it easy for fash-ion-forward consumers to change it up by rolling them at the ankle or adjust-ing the easy-to-wear straps.

The comeback of the childhood overall trend has brought something for every body type—whether a consumer wants something loose and baggy or fitted and tight. Designers like Stella McCartney, Rag & Bone and Calvin Klein have embraced this style and brought it to life in their collections and on the catwalk. Independent designers, as well, have taken a liking to the

overall trend and sites like UsTrendy have provided shoppers with over 100 options of overalls to choose from. Therefore, the fashion world has left consumers with no choice but to find a pair of cute suitable over-

alls to add to their wardrobe.
