International Standards & RegulationsBlH Stop Drop Barricading & BlH guarding Systems conform to relevant worldwide recognised standards/regulations. BlH Stop Drop Barricading & BlH guarding Systems have been designed to comply/function in accordance with following standards/regulations with appropriate pre risk assessment completed.

Australian and New Zealand StandardsaS/nZS 1657 this australian/new Zealand standard sets out requirements for the design, construction, and installation of fixed platforms, walkways, stairways, and ladders which are intended to provide means of safe access to and safe working at places normally used by operating, inspection, maintenance, and servicing personnel.

aS 4576 this australian Standard gives practical guidance for the training and certification of scaffolders, the preparation of sites for scaffolding, and the safe selection, supply, erection, alteration, dismantling, maintenance, inspection and use of scaffolding and scaffolding equipment.

aS 4024.1601-2006 this australian Standard specifies general requirements for the design and construction of guards both fixed and moving provided primarily to protect persons from mechanical hazards associated with machinery. attention is drawn to the use of guards to minimize exposure to non-mechanical hazards. the requirements of this Standard are applicable if fixed and movable guards are used. the objective of this Standard is to enable designers, manufacturers, suppliers, employers and users of machinery to minimize risks to the health and safety of employees and those working with or otherwise near machinery by providing technical means for the design and construction of guards.scaffolds. the stairway details also apply to temporary stairways for use on a general construction site.

aS 1576 this australian Standard sets out design and operational requirements for scaffolding systems, scaffolding equipment and scaffolds. it also includes the specifications for catch platforms erected on scaffolds. the stairway details also apply to temporary stairways for use on a general construction site.

aS 1170.2 this australian Standard sets out procedures for determining wind speeds and resulting wind actions to be used in the structural design of structures subjected to wind actions other than those caused by tornadoes.

(b) guards shall be securely in place while machinery is being operated, except when testing or making adjustments which cannot be performed without removal of the guard.

International Standardisation OrganistationiSo 13849-1 provides safety requirements and guidance on the principles for the design and integration of safety-related parts of control systems (Srp/CS), including the design of software. for these parts of Srp/CS, it specifies characteristics that include the performance level required for carrying out safety functions. it applies to Srp/CS, regardless of the type of technology and energy used (electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, etc.), for all kinds of machinery. it does not specify the safety functions or performance levels that are to be used in a particular case.

British Standards & European Norm BS en 953 this european Standard specifies general requirements for the design and construction of guards provided primarily to protect persons from mechanical hazards.

Canadian Standard Associations OSH RegulationsCSa Z432 this Standard applies to the protection of persons from the hazards arising from the use of mobile or stationary machinery. it provides the criteria to be observed and the description, selection, and application of guards and safety devices. Where a current CSa Standard exists for a specific type of machinery (e.g., Can/CSa-B167, Can/CSa-B354.2, Can/CSa-m424.1, Z142, Z248, and Can/CSa-Z434), it is to be used in conjunction with this Standard to provide the most effective protection to the particular situation.

Singapore StandardsSS 537 this code of practice provides comprehensive guidelines on the methods for safeguarding the dangerous parts of machinery and enhancing safety in the use of machinery. it also provides basic requirements on the design and manufacture of machinery so as to ensure that machinery used in Singapore is incorporated with basic safety features. the code also provides guidelines on the safety and health issues relating to the installation, testing, maintenance and servicing of machinery.

American National Standards Institute anSi B11.19-2010 performance requirements for the design, construction, installation, operation and maintenance of the safeguarding listed below when applied to machines. a)guards b)Safeguarding devices c)awareness devices d)Safeguarding methods this standard also provides performance requirements for complementary equipment and measures, safe work procedures, and safety functions.

Local Legislations & RegulationsBlH Stop Drop Barricading System/BlH guarding Systems meet the criteria set out by local legislations/regulations in accordance with Safety Barricading/guarding systems requirements. these regulations are drawn up by the relevant governing bodies like: -Department of occupational Safety & Health (ministry of human resources malaysia), -Workplace Safety & Health act (ministry of manpower Singapore), -Safety & Health order 2009 (Brunei), -Department of labour (south africa), etc and these regulations are developed based on one or more of the internationally recognised standards mentioned above.

UV Stabilisedusing a uv Weatherometer, BlH Safety Solutions products were tested for 1000 hours in accelerated weather conditions equivalent to 2 years of outdoor weather exposure.

BlH Safety Solution’s advanced polymer formula is well suited to harsh outdoor environments. you can be certain that our products will stand the test of time.

Chemical Resistance BlH Safety Solution’s advanced polymer composition has been externally tested and certified as chemical resistant. each component was subjected to immersion in both Sulphuric acid and Shellsol kerrosene for 200 hours, and exhibited less than 0.025% change in mass.

BlH products won’t rust, and they are not effected by salty processing water, or marine environments.

Wind Rating BlH Stop Drop Safety Barricading has undergone rigourous external testing for wind loading and suitability for use on structures. BlH Safety Solutions worked closely with Bmt WBm and monash university, melbourne, to test the wind loading of the BlH Stop Drop Barricading system.

through this testing it was shown that BlH Stop Drop Barricading complies to aS1170.2, and is able to withstand 1.8kpa of pressure, which translates to 180 kph winds / 110 mph winds.

BlH Stop Drop Barricading has minimal impact on structural wind loading and low impacts on structural integrity.

Fire Information BlH Stop Drop Safety Barricading was tetsted in accordance with aS1530.2 and aS1530.3, and resulted in the following parameters:

Stop Drop Mattingin order to prevent dropped objects from slipping through the large gaps in steel grating commonly used as walkway flooring, and to prevent slips, trips and falls, BlH Safety Solutions offer several floor matting solutions for dropped object prevention.

BlH offers tubular pvC matting that is slip resistant, as well as being resistant to oils, grease, acids and alkalis, so you can be sure that your workers will be safe from slips, trips and falls as well as dropped objects when you install tubular floor matting.

flooring is an integral component of a dropped object prevention system, as it can prevent objects from slipping through gaps in walkways and falling to lower levels. made for harsh conditions, this pvC flooring can withstand temperatures within a range of -10c to 100C, and is self extinguishing on removal of flame. the pvC tubular design of the flooring is anti-fatigue, as well as being hygenic and mould resistant.

SupaGrippa Mattinga hard-wearing floor matting solution, Supagrippa matting is a non-porous pvC matting designed for use in wet and slippery conditions. it also makes great dropped object prevention, and protects your flooring or walkways from damage.

impervious to most oils, alkalis and acids, this matting is great for increasing traction in wet and slippery areas. available in a range of colours, this matting is suitable for wet areas, mess halls, workshops, labs, walkways and offices, as well as many other applications.
