    The Blending module is totally integratedinto the Four-X scheduling system andmultiple pushbacks can be scheduled usingone of Four-Xs three standard schedulingmethods. If the Milawa Algorithm is used atthe same time of scheduling the pushbacks,then the blending and stockpile usage is also

    optimised. The user has control overminimum and maximum leads and benchseparations for each push back and like manyother variables in Four-X, these can bechanged over time.

    How it works

    Whittle have integrated the industry standardLindo

    TMLinear Programming (LP) engine into

    Four-X, where it is used to optimize the blendand the stockpile utilisation. Four-X reduces the

    problem to an LP formulation and passes it to theLindo optimization engine. Lindo then calculatesthe solution and feeds the results back to Four-X,which completes the calculations and formats theresults for the user. When used in conjunctionwith the Milawa Algorithm, blend optimizationsoccur within each Milawa iterative loop, so blendconsiderations influence the scheduleoptimization. Combining both the algorithms ofMilawa and Lindo leads to an unprecedentedability to handle tremendous complexity. Theresult is a schedule that meets all your technicalrequirements, and maximises project NPV.
