Blake's flood report 11th Julyfor Christchurch

Christchurch residents are sick of living with flooding, vermin and health issues.

Kiri Howlett said her street had flooded about four times since Christmas pushing water that had sewage under her house.

The repeated flooding had caused mould to grow throughout her home, and her young family to suffer health problems. 

''There's definitely a lot of angry people,‘ she said.

.'' Howlett and about 30 other frustrated residents met yesterday afternoon to tell of their concerns over thelack of progress.

''These people shouldn't have to suffer having properties under water, nor should they have to put up with not being able to use their toilet every time it rains. This has been going on for 3 years now.

Workers were already working to repair and improve broken drains and pipes where possible, but this has now been put on hold until the Government gives its approval.
