Parent/ Teacher Afternoon
Meetings
Thank you to all the parents who attended one of the sessions last Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully, you left with a better understanding of the units of work your children will be covering throughout this year and the ways in which the school is trying to best assist your children with their ongoing education.
The sausage sizzle which ran on Wednesday afternoon, raised $196.00 towards the purchase of school resources. Thank you

Multicultural Concert at their school
next Wednesday. The excursion is free
of charge and we will be walking to and
from Evans High School. There will be
the opportunity at the end of the
concert for students to purchase and
try food from various cultures. The food

P & C AGM
On Tuesday 24th March at 9:15am, the
P & C will be holding their Annual General Meeting. All positions will be declared vacant and elections will be held. Many of the existing committee members have indicated that they will not be standing for any position as their children are now in high school. If you are able to help in anyway please come to the meeting.
Start Smart Financial Literacy
A member from the Commonwealth bank Start Smart Program is coming to our school next week to run a series of free lessons to teach the students about financial literacy. All classes from Year 1 to Year 6 will participate in these lessons.
Head Lice
In recent weeks there has been an outbreak of head lice at school. To eradicate this problem we need everyone’s help to check and treat their children’s hair.
Ice Cream Stall
Year 6 will be having an Ice Cream
Stall on Tuesday 17th March. The ice
creams will cost $1.00 each. Students
wishing to purchase an ice cream can
bring their $1.00 to school on Tuesday.
The ice cream stall will take place
during lunch time. All money raised will
go towards the Year 6 Farewell.
Attendance
Much research has been done to show the link between
excellent attendance at school and the correlation to
students completing their high school studies and going on
to being actively employed as adults. Please ensure your
child is at school each day on time so he/she can develop
good study habits.
Due to changes in the Department’s policy on attendance,
overseas trips and holidays during school term time are no
longer able to be approved by the Principal. The
Department states that all trips and holidays should be
taken during school holiday times.
Over the holidays, major work was completed on the
grounds. New concrete was laid in the top area and new
asphalt in the bottom playground and planter boxes
removed. The rest of the seats will be bolted back when
all the parts are delivered.
Yours sincerely
Meg Peel Principal

Fruit Barn Car Park
Unfortunately we have been notified of further incidences of unsafe parking and driving into and out of the fruit barn of a morning and afternoon. Last week a car reversed out of the car park which is a dangerous practice. Small children are not easily seen at the back of a car while reversing. Please be considerate of others when delivering and collecting your children from school each day.
