TTTThe School witnessed the Vanmahotsav celebration by the middle section students on the 17th of may under the able guid-
ance of the teachers. The students were asked to bring saplings of any plant to display in the middle section verandah. On
the day, students were seen flocking near the already existing trees in the middle section assembly ground, arranging the
newly brought saplings. The event was observed with great excitement on the part of both teachers and the students.
Every now and then the students were to water the plants with their water bottles or watch its daily growth. Hope to see
the saplings grow into healthy plants after so much of care and effort...

Many know it,
For its bio-diversity.
Not to forget the one-horned rhino,
A cause for the state’s glory.
Many know it for,
Its rich culture, its rich history.
People know that Ahoms ruled,
And even over the Mughals they got victory.
Many know it for,
The tea it produces.
No doubt it’s good,
For it pampers your senses.
Even devotees from places,
Come hither to Maa Kamakhya.
For they are solemn and seek solace,
Wishing to attain Nirvana.

Sadly, many know it now,
For the militants causing bloodshed.
The consequences are bitter,
As they spread violence and hatred.
And to fight these problems,
We need unity above all.
Because, united we stand,
Divided we fall.
As to describe all about it,
In a few words is impossible.
Once called Kamrup, now called Assam.
It is a state – Simply Natural.

BOOK REVIEW— 3 Mistakes of My Life3 Mistakes of My Life3 Mistakes of My Life3 Mistakes of My Life– Chetan Bhagat

In late-2000, a young boy in Ahmedabad called Govind dreamt of having a business. To accom-
modate his friends Ish and Omi’s passion, they open a cricket shop. Govind wants to make
money and thinks big. Ish is all about nurturing Ali, the batsman with a rare gift. Omi knows his
limited capabilities and just wants to be with his friends. However, nothing comes easy in a tur-
bulent city. To realize their goals, they will have to face it all - religious politics, earthquakes,
riots, unacceptable love and above all, their own mistakes. Will they make it? Can an individ-
ual’s dreams overcome the nightmares offered by real life? Can we succeed despite a few mis-
takes?
This is renowned author Chetan Bhagat’s third book. And if you have liked One Night at the Call
Center and Five Point Someone, you are bound to like this one. Although the characters are simi-
lar to the previous books, this book differs in the sense that it is based on some heart wrenching
real life events that stir your soul………..
OOOOne of the primary driving forces in the world of new age music and the son of the legen-
dary tabla player Shankar Ghosh, Bikram Ghosh is recognized worldwide both for his
unique achievements as a tabla player and a composer of unique creations. As a tabla
virtuoso, he has performed with all the fames in both the North and South Indian tradi-
tions of Indian Classical Music. His many years of accompaniment with sitar maestro
Ravi Shankar culminated in the Grammy winning album Full Circle on which Bikram
Ghosh accompanied the legendary maestro. He has also got the opportunity to perform
on George Harrison's posthumously released album Brainwashed. He is a regular artist
on almost all world music albums, some of the recent ones being-Blazing Drums and The
Afro Indian Music.
Beyond Rhythmscape-it signifies a journey and represents a further step in the path of music that this renowned percussion-
ist discovered for himself through Rhythmscape. This album contains about 8 classic pieces among which the ones like
Sawariya by Kailash Kher, Tore Sang by Shobha Mudgal and The Home Coming are enchanting….
OOOOne year later, the Kings and Queens of Narnia find themselves back in that faraway won-
drous realm, only to discover that more than 1,300 years have passed in Narnia time. During
their absence, the Golden Age of Narnia has become extinct and Narnia has been conquered
by the Telmarines and is now under the control of the evil King Miraz, who rules the land
without mercy. The four children will soon meet a curious new character: Narnia's rightful
heir to the throne, the young Prince Caspian, who has been forced into hiding, as his uncle
Miraz plots to kill him in order to place his own newborn son on the throne. With the help of
the kindly dwarf, a courageous talking mouse named Reepicheep, a badger named Truffle
hunter and a Black Dwarf, Nikabrik, the Narnians--led by the mighty knights Peter and Cas-
pian--embark on a remarkable journey to find Aslan, rescue Narnia from Miraz's tyrannical
hold, and restore magic and glory to the land.

This year will be a great time for the environment club. We all have decided to do a variety of projects. We have divided
ourselves in several groups to work on different projects such as tree tagging, rainwater harvesting and awareness plac-
ard making. Moreover, there is also one group that has organized the World Environment Day on 5th June. Also, the
rainwater harvesting project will be completed by July, if everything goes according to the plan. We hope you give us
full support and cooperation. Suggestions and ideas are also welcome.
One of the greatest spiritual teachers of mankind which Bharat has produced is undoubtedly, Buddha. Buddha's mes-sage has traveled far and wide and captured the hearts and minds of billions of people
Siddhartha, the only son of Shuddhodana, the King of Kapilavastu situated at the foot of Himalayas, was prophesied by the royal astrologer to become either a famous emperor or a world-renowned ascetic. The father, anxious that his son should not take to the thorny path of a recluse, took extraordinary precautions to avoid every situation which would provoke such thoughts in his son's mind. Siddhartha grew of age without ever knowing what misery or sorrow was. One day the prince desired to see the city. The King ordered that the city should be all gay and grand, so that everywhere his son would meet with only pleasing sights. However, an old and crippled man by the roadside happened to catch Siddhartha's eye.
It was a sight never witnessed before by the prince: a sunken face, a toothless mouth, all the limbs emaciated, the whole body bent and walking with extreme difficulty. When asked about that person’s identity, Chenna, the charioteer, replied , he was a human being who had become old. To further enquiries, Chenna informed that the old man was of fine shape in his young age and that every human being had to become like him after the youthful days are past. The perturbed prince returned to the palace, deeply engrossed in anxious thoughts.
The King , in order to cheer up his spirits, ordered for his son's procession in the capital, but on subsequent rounds, Siddhar-tha came across a sick man and a corpse being carried to the funeral ground. Again it was Chenna,, who explained that hu-man beings were prone to illness and that death inevitably awaited man at the end. As luck would have it, on his final round, Siddhartha saw a person, his face beaming with job and tranquility, and heard from Chenna that he was an ascetic who had triumphed over the worldly temptations, fears and sorrows and attained the highest bliss of life. And that clinched the thoughts of the young prince who was hardly twenty-nine. In full bloom of youth, in the midnight of a full-moon day, he bade good-bye to his father, his beloved Yashodhara, his son Rahul ,the royal luxuries and departed to the forest to seek for him-self answers for the riddles of human misery.
For seven long years, Siddhartha roamed in the jungles, underwent severe austerities and finally, on the Vaishaakha Poornima , the supreme light of Realization dawned on him. He thereafter became Buddha, the Enlightened One. Buddha's overflowing love for the downtrodden and destitute acted as one of the greatest factors for social harmony and justice to the weaker sections in the society. The spiritual and moral forces generated by Buddha have strengthened and enriched Hindu-ism and helped to wean it from perversions which had set in at that time. To this day, countries like Bhutan, China, Japan, Thailand, Nepal, Myanmar look upon Buddha as their supreme spiritual redeemer.
