Black Rhino

Black Rhino - a large and mighty animal. On his head is usually two horns, but in some places three or even five. Anterior horn is the largest, most often the length of 40-60 cm.

Areal

Most of Rhinos live in protected areas in Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique and South Africa. They are better

adapted to the arid and semi-arid savannas of Namibia, southern Angola, western Botswana and western South Africa.

Population

The total number of black rhinos now is about 3.5 thousand individuals. In the last 10-15 years, the number of black rhinoceros is generally relatively

stable, but in separate populations usually changes.

Endangered

Rhinos are killed by humans for their horns, which are bought and sold on the black market, and which are used by some cultures for ornamental or medicinal purposes. Now Black Rhinos are critically endangered.
