THE FACTS

The government has set a benchmark that 54% of Students should be achieving 5 GCSE subjects at grades A*-C including English and Maths. However, many ethnic minority boys do not achieve these.

Only 40% of Black Caribbean Boys achieved 5 or more A*-C grade GCSEs in 2009 (from The Department of Education).

Which was the 3rd lowest of the UK population

Other ethnic groups seem to do better such as: Black African at 48% Bangladeshi at 48% Indian at 68% Chinese at 70%
