THE MYTH OFBLACK BARON
The black baron was a hero of his time. There was a man who made a name of himself as he was fi ghting at the front line in World War I. The story of this feared commander was soon told behind the French border. Particularly one man was fascinated and at the same time shocked by the threat yet to come. Philippe Marchant, a goldsmith from Paris, worked at the same time in the border region around Saint-Avold. Besides leading a life as a normal however successful goldsmith, he was a secret agent for the German leader’s squad-ron and had therefore relations that reached far inside the German leader power. Inspired by the Black Baron’s inimitable accomplish-ments, Marchant devoted himself to creating hero’s relics in his Pa-risian studio after the war’s end until he disappeared inexplicably in 1940. Thereupon his family fl ed to South America. The era of the elitist jewellery brand ended. The myth of the Black Baron fell into oblivion but never died.

keep the silver pieces in the original BLACK BARONpackaging to protect them from the light and air, the
two elements which can make silver turn black.The pH of your skin can also aff ect silver turning it
black if you have a very low pH.

RECOMMENDATIONS
To clean silver, place the piece in a receptacle of warm water with a few drops of laundry detergent for delicate clothes and gently brush the piece with a toothbrush. You can also ask your BLACK BARON reseller or our employees in the head store to help you cleaning the products. Refurbishing your BLACK BARON jewelry is one of our services in the head store. Never use chemical products.
SILVER
As with wood, you should avoid getting leather wet and should nourish it with moisturiser. Never let the leatherget in contact with alcohol or otherproducts containing alcohol like perfume or body lotions.
